Here's Whattup with That Old Age Face App All Your Friends Are Using

Hello, and welcome. If you’re here, you are likely confused about why literally everyone on your Instagram timeline will not stop posting photos of themselves as old people. It’s like, you’re sitting there minding your own business, looking at millions of pics from Kylie Jenner’s vacation, and then the Jonas Brothers blow up your timeline with this absolute fright fest:

So, WHAT IS THIS SORCERY? And more importantly, how can you get in on it without embarassing yourself and asking a friend who will inevitably shade you for being 24 hours late to the game?

It’s called FaceApp.

And you can download it below.

The app has actually been around for years, and uses artificial intelligence to read your face. Actually, you might remember that FaceApp caused a ton of controversy in 2017 for its “ethnicity filters,” which…yeah, was probably the worst idea ever. But it looks like they’re back again for another (way less controversial) viral moment.

Before you jump on it, one quick thing. If you’re concerned about photo sharing and privacy, there is some question as to whether FaceApp can access all your pics or not, so tread carefully!

Shouldn’t photo access need to be enabled for this to be possible ? 🤔 pic.twitter.com/wy45zKn63E

On that note, hope future you doesn’t have too many wrinkles.
