Is Catelynn Lowell Going Into Preterm Labor After Suffering ‘Severe Pelvic Pain’? — OB/GYN Explains

Catelynn Lowell posted a worrying pregnancy update on Jan. 9 about her ‘restless legs’ and ‘severe pelvic pain.’ A doctor told HL EXCLUSIVELY what these symptoms might mean for the ‘Teen Mom OG’ star!

Catelynn Lowell, 26, is pregnant for the third time, and even though every pregnancy is different, she’s having some of the same problems she did before! But while “restless legs” are normal, what about the “severe pelvic pain” she mentioned in her Jan. 8 Insta post? “Pelvic pressure is very common later on in the pregnancy because the baby is getting bigger and heavier, however, pelvic pain is not usual and should be evaluated for preterm labor,” Dr. Zaher Merhi, OB-GYN and the Director of Research and Development in IVF Technologies at New Hope Fertility Center, told Hollywoodlife.com EXCLUSIVELY.

So what exactly is preterm labor? “This is a combination of uterine contractions and shortening of the cervix, the tip of the uterus that holds the pregnancy,” the doctor explained. “Preterm birth by definition occurs before 37 weeks of gestation. If Catelynn is having contractions and shortening of her cervix, then yes, she might be going into preterm labor.” And while this is considered too soon to deliver a baby, “the chances of viability of the fetus is pretty good nowadays.” Dr. Merhi also added that there could be many other reasons the reality star was hurting. “Like non-pregnant women, severe pelvic pain should be taken seriously and could be anything from appendicitis, to kidney stones, to bladder infection, to ovarian cysts.”

Here’s to hoping Catelynn has been speaking to her doctor about all of her pregnancy symptoms and staying safe! We bet she and Tyler Baltierra, 26, are checking in and taking care of business. They have done this twice before, after all! Recall the couple’s newborn daughter was adopted in 2009, and Novalee, just celebrated her fourth birthday with a unicorn bash.

The joys of pregnancy 🤰🏻 lol 😂

‘Teen Mom OG’ Star Tyler Baltierra To Write About Marital Issues In New Tell-All, Per ‘Radar’

The current season of Teen Mom OG is wrapping up with reunion and unseen moments specials. On the most recent reunion episode, fans watched as Tyler Baltierra and Catelynn Lowell opened up about their marriage and some of the issues they’ve faced, including a one-month separation. The couple explained that the separation was more about them having the time to find themselves as individuals. Most fans of the show know that the couple has been together since they were teenagers. Because of this, choosing to take a small separation is understandable and, according to a new report from Radar Online, the time apart has been beneficial.

A source explained to the site that both Tyler and Catelynn are doing well after the separation. Tyler, in particular, feels more “confident,” according to the source. Not only that, but the Teen Mom OG dad is reportedly ready to write a self-help book about mental illness. The book will also be a sort of “tell-all” as Tyler reportedly plans to open about the marriage issues he has faced with Catelynn.

The source explained to Radar, “Tyler is still struggling with depression, but writing is a big outlet of his. He’s in the midst of writing a self-help book for mental health that he wants to release in 2019.”

Together the couple released a book called Conquering Chaos in 2015. In the book, the couple was honest about themselves, allowing fans a raw look at their lives and experiences. Fans had originally been introduced to the couple on 16 and Pregnant. Viewers watched as the young couple made the hard decision to place their first-born daughter up for adoption.

Catelynn and Tyler are now married and are raising their daughter Nova. Catelynn is also pregnant with another baby and recently announced that they are having another girl.

Catelynn recently posted a photo of the couple together on Instagram where she gushed about her love for Tyler. Along with a photo of the couple, Catelynn posted, “I love you so much @tylerbaltierramtv thanks for blessing me with three beautiful girls and choosing me as your wife I’m truly blessed by you! I love you!”

Tyler Baltierra recently shared an Instagram post that included some of his writing along with a hashtag “writing is freeing.”

my brain is not normal my thoughts aren’t desirable my desires are uncomfortable they may all be relatable but man they’re despicable I’m so sick of being difficult & fighting these emotions that I need to start accepting it’s so damn pitiful! I’m always putting everyone else ahead of me but yet they don’t seem to see that I refuse to sacrifice for the one person that truly matters which is me & I don’t mean to sound conceited but if you don’t love yourself & ignore all those dreams that just collect dust on the shelf you can never really be any help to yourself So don’t put everyone else ahead of the truth, that realizing the most important one is you if you ever want to win…because without a healthy you, you’ll never be any help to anyone in the end #WritingIsFreeing ✍🏻

‘Teen Mom’ Stars Catelynn Lowell And Tyler Baltierra Celebrate Christmas Amid Separation

Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra celebrated Christmas together amid their separation on Tuesday.

Weeks after Baltierra was seen asking his wife for a separation during an episode of the eighth season of Teen Mom OG, Lowell took to her Instagram page to gush over her love for her husband — after he gifted her with a couple of very expensive gifts.

“I love you so much @tylerbaltierramtv thanks for blessing me with three beautiful girls and choosing me as your wife,” Lowell wrote in the caption of an Instagram photo of herself and Baltierra hugging one another as they celebrated the holiday.

“I’m truly blessed by you! I love you!” she added.

During their holiday celebrations, Lowell was given not one, but two pairs of Christian Louboutin heels.

“Yasssss!!! Thank you Hubby @tylerbaltierramtv you know me so well,” she wrote on a video clip of the pricey shoes.

Earlier this month — after confirming their separation publicly — Lowell faced tons of backlash, as did her husband.

In response to the backlash, Lowell shared a now-deleted statement with her fans and followers online.

“YES we are having a 30 day reflection time. NO we are not getting a divorce!” Lowell wrote in a now-deleted Instagram post, via E! News. “YES I know what I put him and Nova through when I left for treatment! He was AMAZING and supported me the whole time!”

Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra have been sharing their relationship ups and downs with their fans and followers for the last several years, starting with a one-season run on 16 & Pregnant. In the years since, they’ve been seen on Teen Mom and Teen Mom OG.

Although Lowell and Baltierra went through hard times with one another during filming on the eighth season of Teen Mom OG, they never intended to split from one another — and made it clear to their fans and followers that divorce was not in their future.

As Lowell and Baltierra continue to focus on their lives as individuals outside of their marriage, the couple is also preparing for the upcoming birth of their third child — a baby girl — next year. The couple confirmed they were having a baby months ago. The news came after welcoming daughter Carly — who they gave up for adoption in 2009 — and second child Novalee Reign, in 2015.

Lowell and Baltierra got married in August 2015, after spending over a decade together.

Teen Mom OG Season 8 airs Mondays at 9 p.m. on Bravo TV.

Teen Mom’s Tyler Baltierra Admits He Doesn’t Deserve Catelynn After Couple Reveals They’re Living Separately

Tyler didn’t have a clapback prepared for a hater who blasted him on Twitter! But he did clarify what exactly happened during his and Catelynn’s trial separation, giving us hope for this ‘Teen Mom OG’ couple.

We just watched Catelynn Lowell, 26, break down in tears when Tyler Baltierra, 26, moved out for their trial separation in the Teen Mom OG season finale on Dec. 17. One MTV fan was just as upset. “Your [sic] a scum bag. You don’t deserve Cate. I hope karma bites you in the a**,” the fan tweeted at Tyler, but he didn’t fight back. “You’re absolutely right…I don’t deserve Cate & trust me, karma has bitten me many times before, so I’m well equipped when she comes knocking again! 😉😬😂,” he replied. Yikes! Tyler did give himself more credit in succeeding tweets, revealing that he and Catelynn weren’t that far apart during their living experiment.

“The 30 days wasn’t even a total isolated ‘separation’. I was 8 min down the road & we had dinner dates, family movie nights, went on a mini vacation & it was EXACTLY what we needed for US! People can hate on me all day but my self assurance is not reliant on society’s acceptance,” Tyler wrote on Dec. 18. In a follow-up tweet, he further explained, “I only spent the first week of the ‘separation’ in the new house on an air mattress in the middle of construction to get it completely ready for Cate & Nova. Then I went to the old house for the rest of the time. I wasn’t going to let my girls live in chaos!” Tyler was referring to their new mansion, AKA the George W. Smith Octagon Farmhouse, that he, his wife and their nearly four-year-old child, Novalee, will be moving into. And the home will receive one more addition after the birth of their third child, Tezlee (they put their first child, Carly, up for adoption in 2009).

But Catelynn already assured us that the trial separation wasn’t a stepping stone towards a split on Dec. 7. “Yes we are having a 30 day reflection time. No we are not getting a divorce!” she wrote on Instagram, but the post has since been delated. She then commended her husband of three years for supporting her throughout her three trips to rehab from late 2017 to early 2018. “YES I know what I put him and Nova through when I left for treatment,” she continued. “He was amazing and supported me the whole time! I also know I had to go so I wouldn’t commit SUICIDE! I am supporting what he wants now. WE love each other and ALWAYS WILL.”

Tyler also clarified that he doesn’t want to see other women in a tweet on Dec. 3. It was much needed me-time, and not a failing romance, that prompted the trial separation in the first place. “We say, ‘Let’s just do 30 days of self-reflection time. You get to focus on you, I get to focus on me,” he explained to Us Weekly on Dec. 4. “We’ll continue to do couples’ therapy. We’ve got a great therapist who works really good with us, so [we’re] kind of following her advice on top of the separation, whatever you wanna call it. We call it 30 days of self-reflection – just positive terminology here.”
