Hodgson insists 'no rush' for England to pick Man Utd and Arsenal target Wan-Bissaka

Some were surprised when Gareth Southgate opted not to call up the Crystal Palace right-back, 21, on Wednesday for the upcoming Euro qualifiers Czech Republic and Montenegro.

Southgate did praise Wan-Bissaka – who is eligible for DR Congo having represented the African nation at Under-20 level – but insisted he would not cap players purely to prevent them from playing elsewhere.

Eagles boss Hodgson said: “My eyebrows weren't raised – I don't see why they should be.

“He is picked for the England U-21s which in itself is a very, very big honour.

“It is good to know that reading Gareth's comments that he is obviously aware of Aaron Wan-Bissaka and what he can do.

“No, I don't think Aaron, myself or anyone at the club should start jumping onto media speculation regarding the player. It is up to him to keep playing well.

“We believe in him. We believe he has a very, very good future at the age of 21.

“At that age, you have got an awful lot of football and an awful lot of time to play for England in the future. It had no effect on us whatsoever.”

Wan-Bissaka has the chance to show Southgate what he is missing when Palace head to Watford for the FA Cup quarter-final on Saturday.

Hodgson will be without long-term absentee Mamadou Sakho, who had a knee operation at the end of February after injuring against Leicester.

It had been thought the French star would miss the rest of the season but Hodgson revealed his centre-back is doing everything he can to make a comeback before the campaign is out.

The 71-year-old said: “He is recovering from the operation. It is a weekly thing. We hope he will recover. He is working very hard to recover but he only had the operation just after a week ago.

“It is a while before we see him back even in rehabilitation and then we will see how many weeks we have left in the season.

“He is adamant he doesn't want to write off the season. He will do his level best to get back but whether the injury will prevent that, we will have to wait and see.”

Miller insists he 'doesn't give a s***t whether people think I deserve Joshua fight' as loudmouth American insists he 'held the cards' during talks

Joshua and promoter Eddie Hearn had to resort to plan D after seeing fights WBC king Deontay Wilder, unbeaten Tyson Fury and former AJ opponent Dillian Whyte all fall through.

They were left to finalise a deal with unbeaten American Miller, with Joshua now making his Stateside debut at Madison Square Garden on June 1.

Speaking exclusively to SunSport, Miller insisted WBA, IBF and WBO champion Joshua was so out of options, he was the one calling the shots.

Miller said: “I told people AJ needed me more now than I need him, and some people thought I was joking. No, I’m serious.

“A lot of people don’t want to see him fight Dillian Whyte again.

“When I hear all this 'the Dillian Whyte fight should have been made', I’m like ‘For who?’, 75 per cent of British fans don’t want to see that fight again.

“With me there ain’t going to be no sit down and play nice, we all know what I bring to the table.

“I know I talk smack, I know I talk the talk but that’s part of the sport, it’s part of the game – if you got soft skin, this ain’t the sport for you.

“Not everybody has had the kind of upbringing he’s had, or the opportunities he’s had – so we’re gonna come out the gate swinging.

“Not everybody has to be happy, be humble, I’m not that type of person, I’m gritty as hell.”

After Joshua announced he will defend his trio of world titles against Big Baby – fans were left underwhelmed.

Underwhelmed AJ would not unify the division against Wilder, underwhelmed it was not a super-fight against Fury and underwhelmed Whyte still has not got that world title fight he rightfully deserves.

But for Miller, a major outsider with nothing to lose, he is not concerned about any criticism his first world title tilt has received.

Miller said: “I couldn’t give two s***s about what people think. A lot of people didn’t think Tyson Fury was ready to fight Deontay Wilder on his comeback.

“People didn’t think that was the right fight for Tyson Fury – Tyson Fury is my guy but I didn’t think he was ready for that fight.

“We all thought he needed one more fight but Tyson went and proved it to everybody – and I’m going to go in and do what I do.

“People can say what they want, it’s taken me a long time to get where I’m at – I thought I’d get this fight in September but now it’s June, you think I care what anyone says?

“People have been in line for two years, so I’m glad it’s happening – I wish it could have happened sooner.”

As Miller prepares to shock the world, he vows to follow in the footsteps of Fury and Mike Tyson – who adopted a no respect attitude any time they squared off against an opponent.

Miller added: “Every fighter is different and not everybody had that spite. Tyson Fury, Mike Tyson, they showed no respect – some heavyweights have done it different.

“I’m cut from a different cloth, like how Tyson Fury gets, he’s in your face, he’s outspoken, he’s not quiet about it, he won’t bite, he’s fluid with it.

“When you come across the water I’m the heavyweight like that, anytime AJ sees me, there’s going to be problems.

“They don’t want to see a handshake, or a smile, they don’t want no chess match – I know in the UK they like dirt matches. I’m going to hurt him.”

Curtain-twitchers are the new weapon against terror

Curtain-twitchers are the new weapon against terror: Neighbourhood Watch insists its 2.3m members do more than spot low-level crime but are frontline in fighting ISIS and human trafficking

  • Comedian David Mitchell joked Watch members focus on local crimes and would only find a mafia boss ‘if he plays music too loud at Christmas party’
  • But Neighbourhood Watch chief executive  John Hayward-Cripps hit back saying Watch toolkits ‘tackle human trafficking and terrorism’
  • Volunteers also tackle help stop young people from carrying knives and help older people detect scams

Long-derided as nosy neighbours and busybodies, the Neighbourhood Watch has pulled back the curtain on its activities claiming its members are on the front-line of the fight against terrorism and human trafficking.

Last month in his column in The Guardian comedian David Mitchell accused Neighbourhood Watch volunteers of only focusing on small local crimes.

He joked that if they ran the NHS ‘all the money would go to treating RSI caused by overenergetic net-curtain twitching’ and added ‘their best chance of arresting a mafia boss is if he plays the music too loudly at his Christmas party.’

Now the group’s chief executive has hit back at what he called ‘lazy stereotyping’ of his 2.3 million members.

The Neighbourhood Watch is often thought of as being comprised of middle-class ‘curtain twitchers’ but its chief executive said that was ‘lazy stereotyping’ of a volunteer force which also tackles knife crime and terrorism

18 terror plots foiled by public in 2 years

The UK’s most senior counter terrorism officer, head of UK Counter Terrorism Policing Assistant Commissioner Neil Basu, said more than 22 per cent of all reports from the public produce intelligence which is helpful to police and revealed the number of attacks foiled since March 2017 has risen to 18.

These efforts are backed by the Neighbourhood Watch Network which last year launched a crime prevention toolkit aimed at tackling terrorism.

Mr Basu said: ‘Thankfully, we did not see the horrors of 2017 repeated last year, but we should not be complacent enough to think the terrorist threat has diminished – the UK threat level remains at SEVERE meaning an attack is highly likely.

‘Counter Terrorism Policing officers are currently running more than 700 live investigations nationwide, while crucial intelligence from the public has helped police and the security services prevent 18 terror attacks in just under two years.’

John Hayward-Cripps told The Times: ‘The idea that our members are only concerned with certain types of crime is baffling.

‘Our volunteers run workshops to stop young people carrying knives, we teach older people to spot the signs of potential scams and we have produced crime-prevention toolkits that tackle human trafficking and terrorism.

‘The police are key partners and we enhance the work of very stretched forces.’

According to the Neighbourhood Watch’s terrorism toolkit, members should be wary of anyone who ‘travels a lot but is vague about where they’re going and why’.

Anyone seen buying or receiving deliveries of chemicals, fertilisers or gas cylinders should also be reported, it suggests.

Mr Hayward Cripps reached back to the heyday of the Dandy magazine and its nosiest character for a reference to refute, saying his volunteers were ‘often characterised as a group of middle-class Keyhole Kates — spying on the neighbours, interfering in people’s lives’.

But,  he told the paper, ‘this lazy stereotyping does not reflect the real work of the modern Neighbourhood Watch.’

Neighbourhood Watch schemes, which began in the USA in the 1960s and launched in the UK in the early 1980s, have been shown to reduce crime in an area by up to 26 per cent.

Local homeowners stay alert for suspicious activity and act as the ‘eyes and ears’ of the police.

Some groups have also gone out on the streets. In the village of Huncoat, Lancashire, members said last month that they would run round-the-clock patrols and set up a CCTV system after increases in crime.

It comes as police cast an even wider net when asking the public for help, with 22,000 emailed responses flooding in to a European-wide effort to crowdsource clues in complex child abuse investigations.

The Europol initiative shares photographs of seemingly-innocuous items which appear in images linked to child abuse.

Officers involved in the Trace An Object scheme which launched in 2017 have posted 283 images which generated the massive repsonse.

In one instance, a bathroom tile located by online amateur detectives became the missing piece in an international child abuse investigation and led to the arrest of a suspect and the identification of nine child abuse victims.

Peep Show star’s jokey jibe at net-curtain peepers

Comedian David Mitchell

Writing in The Guardian two weeks ago, Peep Show comedian David Mitchell said he had heard Police and Crime Commissioners ‘aren’t doing a very good job’

He wrote: ‘According to the head of the National Crime Agency, they’re all about stopping speeding and burglary, and not so hot on organised crime, online child abuse and modern slavery.

‘It’s not surprising. Making some local elected officials the overseers of the police is effectively putting the Neighbourhood Watch in charge of law enforcement strategy.

‘They’re going to address the issues most noticeable to the very small percentage of people who might turn out to vote for them.

‘If they were in charge of healthcare, all the money would go to treating RSI caused by overenergetic net-curtain twitching. Their best chance of arresting a mafia boss is if he plays the music too loudly at his Christmas party.’

His statements provoked a strongly-worded rebuttal from the Watch.

Travis Insists He & Kylie Will ‘Get Married Soon' After Explosive Cheating Scandal

Travis Scott is head-over heels for baby mama Kylie Jenner — so much so that he is counting the days until he pops the question!

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, the “Sicko Mode” rapper opens up about their high-profile relationship, sweet family life and future.

“We both believe in God,” he says, adding that when they found out they were expecting baby Stormi Webster, “we felt like, ‘This is something special.’ And kids are something we kind of talked about when we were getting busy.”

Despite the countless negative rumors — including an explosive cheating scandal — surrounding their relationship, Scott, 26, insists he and Jenner’s bond is sock-solid.

At first, he says “we was just two kids, fu***ng around. Maybe, like, the first week, you don’t know if it’s real or a fling. Then the second week you’re like, ‘Whoa, I’m still talking to her, she’s responding, I’m responding. We ain’t run out of a thing to say.’ And it got to a point where I was like, ‘I need her with me to operate. She’s that one.’”

Though he already calls her his “wifey” and she calls him “hubby,” the rapper says their cheeky nicknames will be official titles very soon.

“We’ll get married soon,” he admits. “I just gotta sturdy up — I gotta propose in a fire way.”

RadarOnline.com readers know Scott and Jenner, 21, have been dating since April 2017. Days after their romance began at Coachella, the Lip Kit mogul followed her man on tour and weeks into heir relationship, they conceived baby Stormi.

Everything was Hollywood parties and luxury getaways until earlier this month, when a group of haters broke the internet by releasing a fake photo of Scott “cheating” on Jenner. And while not everyone bought the prank, sources told Radar Jenner was devastated.

“Kylie was crying,” said the insider. “No one could really believe it, because they didn’t think that Travis would be so stupid to cheat on her and mess up everything the has right now.”

But as soon as the prankster came forward, the young mom went from heartbreak to anger.

“She was flipping out, and now wants to shut down her social media,” the source claimed. “To her it was not funny at all.”

During the drama, Scott took to social media to deny the cheating rumors and gush about his gal.

And now, after some time has passed, it seems all is well in paradise.

“People don’t understand how real my girl is. How ill she is,” he told the magazine about his famous baby mama. “They have assumptions, bull***t-a** remarks of what they think is going on. Nah, bro.”

“She’s a Tim Burton fan, which is fire. Wes Anderson fan, which is fire” he continues, adding that what he loves most about her is how “chill” she is.

“I like to just go outside and walk. Knowing a girl that famous, you’d think she’s like, ‘I need to go send somebody to do this for me,’ or ‘I need 15 motherf***ers around me,’ but we just walk out the crib,” he continues.

Scott has never been a fan of the spotlight, and while he though he’d have to change due to his relationship with Jenner, he was happy to learn that she is as low-key as him!

“Me, I hate cameras. I don’t like people in my business. Going into a situation like that, you’d think it would be a whole public fest. You never know. ‘Maybe she’s into all the photos, or worried about this and that.’ And then you realize motherf***ers is normal as possible. I realized what really mattered to her, which is none of this shit. She’s the coolest motherf***er of all time.”

And while the young stars both have hectic schedules, the rapper says they always make time for their daughter.

“We don’t let nothing come over Stormi time. Stormi Saturdays. We don’t f*** around with those,” he says. “Even with me on tour, Stormi pulls up. She’ll travel. She got more stamps on her passport than a lot of motherf***ers.”

Scott admits that while he thought he needed a son at first, as soon as he found out he was having a daughter “I was like, ‘Yo, this might be the illest thing that ever happened.’ And when Stormi was born, I was like, ‘Life is fire, bro.’ ”

Andrea Leadsom insists Corbyn is lying about his sexist jibe at the PM

‘He DID say stupid woman’: Commons leader Andrea Leadsom insists Corbyn is lying about his sexist jibe at the PM as Diane Abbott tries to shrug off fury saying ‘nobody knows’ the truth

  • Theresa May and Jeremy Corbyn clashed at the last PMQs before Christmas
  • The PM taunted Mr Corbyn for ‘pantomime’ dithering over no-confidence vote
  • Labour leader appeared to mouth ‘stupid woman’ after the bitter exchanges
  • Andrea Leadsom says she does not believe Mr Corbyn’s denial of making jibe
  • Diane Abbott insists ‘nobody knows’ what the veteran left-winger really said

Andrea Leadsom effectively accused Jeremy Corbyn of lying today by insisting he did brand the PM a ‘stupid woman’.

The Commons leader made clear she did not believe the Labour leader’s denial of muttering the sexist jibe under his breath at PMQs.

The intervention came as Diane Abbott tried to shrug off mounting fury by arguing ‘nobody knows’ what he really said, and accusing MPs of ‘confected’ rage.

The bitter spat erupted yesterday as Mrs May and Mr Corbyn traded blows over Brexit in the Commons.

The premier accused Mr Corbyn of descending into ‘pantomime’ with threats of a no-confidence vote, saying even his own party was not behind him.

But as the PM sat down to cheers, Mr Corbyn seemed to mutter: ‘Stupid woman.’

The bitter spat erupted yesterday as Theresa May and Jeremy Corbyn (left) traded blows over Brexit in the Commons

The remark was not picked up on microphones, but politicians from both sides of the House were in little doubt what he said – as were multiple lipreaders.

Bizarrely, Hollywood actor Rob Lowe also waded in to the row, saying he had seen the insult on TV ‘with my own eyes’.

However, hauled back to the House to explain himself, Mr Corbyn flatly denied uttering the words.

‘I did not use the words ‘stupid woman’ about the Prime Minister or anyone else,’ he said.

Speaker John Bercow said he had consulted ‘lip speakers’ – people who can hear but interpret for deaf people – and they believed Mr Corbyn probably did deliver the slur, but no-one could be ‘100 per cent’ certain.

Interviewed on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme this morning, Mrs Leadsom said standards of behaviour in the chamber had to improve.

Asked if she believed Mr Corbyn’s denial, she said: ‘I think he said stupid woman. That is how it looks to me.’

Ms Abbott said Tory MPs had ‘put on a display yesterday which Hackney primary school children would have been ashamed of’.

She told Today that Mr Corbyn was an honest man and ‘if he has something to say sorry for he will always say sorry’.

She added: ‘Nobody really knows what he said, certainly they (MPs) did  not know what he said at the time.

‘To me it was contrived, staged behaviour and the British people might wonder why the Tories will stage a mini-riot in Parliament over that but are not staging a mini-riot over the tens of thousands of people who are newly on Universal Credit and are facing Christmas with no money.’

Government Insists NXIVM Cult Members Swapped Sex For Favors From Leader Keith

The U.S. government insists it has evidence to prove NXIVM cult members swapped sex for favors from leader Keith Raniere, RadarOnline.com can exclusively report.

In a new document filed this week in federal court, the government claimed it plans to expose all six defendants, who are facing multiple counts of sex trafficking and racketeering charges.

PHOTOS: Charles Manson ‘Son’ Rushes To Cult Leader’s Deathbed

“The government has alleged and expects to prove at trial that members of DOS expected to receive and did receive things ‘of value’ for engaging in sexual activity with Raniere,” the document stated.

As Radar readers know, Raniere, Smallville actress Allison Mack, and four others are accused of operating the NXIVM and an inner sex ring inside of the organization known as “DOS.”

Keith and Allison are accused of working as “slave masters” and branding women within the ring with their initials.

Former Dynasty actress Catherine Oxenberg – whose daughter, India, escaped from NXIVM earlier this year – claimed Mack manipulated women into sleeping with Raniere.

According to Catherine, Allison dubbed herself nicknames including “Madam Mack,” “Pimp Mack,” and “the Madam.” Catherine also claimed Allison “granted” women within the cult the permission to “enjoy” sex with the twisted leader.

In legal documents filed last month, Allison claimed to have “never” profited from her experience within NXIVM. All six defendants also requested a judge to dismiss the charges against them.

The judge has yet to sign off on the U.S. attorneys’ scathing response. A trial on the case is anticipated to begin in early 2019.
