‘One Day At A Time’ Was Canceled By Netflix & Twitter Is Now In Mourning

Today isn’t a good day for fans of One Day At A Time. On Thursday, March 14, Netflix officially announced that One Day At A Time has been canceled, and will not be renewed for Season 4. Netflix announced the news on social media, and Twitter reacted to the One Day At A Time cancellation with sadness, anger, and a lot of GIFs.

"We’ve made the very difficult decision not to renew One Day At A Time for a fourth season," Netflix tweeted. "The choice did not come easily — we spent several weeks trying to find a way to make another season work but in the end simply not enough people watched to justify another season."

The news followed a push by fans on Twitter to keep the reboot of the ’70s sitcom alive, but ultimately, it didn’t work. In a series of tweets, Netflix thanked creator Norman Lear, the cast, and the show’s executive producers Gloria Calderon Kellett and Mike Royce "for always making us laugh and never shying away from bravely and beautifully tackling tough subject matter in a meaningful way."

Netflix ended this sad note with a message to fans who found a kinship with this Cuban-American family. "And to anyone who felt seen or represented — possibly for the first time — by ODAAT," Netflix tweeted, "please don’t take this as an indication your story is not important. The outpouring of love for this show is a firm reminder to us that we must continue finding ways to tell these stories."

Still, fans were sad to hear that the show they loved would not be returning for another season.

Hey kiddo, it’s time to laugh and learn

IVIEW: Bluey

Bluey, her four-year-old sister, Bingo, and Bandit create elaborate, imaginative games from the everyday.

What struck me about ABC Kids' Bluey, the home-grown hit cartoon about a blue heeler pup and her Brisbane family, is that it caused my daughter to throw her head back, squeal with laughter and wiggle her little body in delight. Often kids sit in front of the TV in a dead-eyed coma, but Bluey – in which the dad, Bandit, calls his daughters "kiddo" and "mate" and peeks at the cricket amid parental duties – is like stand-up comedy for preschoolers.

This is no accident: the makers of this tender and big-hearted show, downloaded more than 21 million times on iView since its debut last October, set their sights on the under-six funny bone. "I am trying to make kids laugh," creator Joe Brumm says. "I am not a big believer that shows can really teach kids anything below the age of six."

That's kind of revolutionary in kids' TV, when you think about it. Brumm, who worked in London on the UK sensation Charlie and Lola, is saying that any show that seeks to teach children to count or impart an intellectual lesson is wasting its time, because preschoolers learn through play. And Bluey is all about play.

Bluey, her four-year-old sister, Bingo, and Bandit create elaborate, imaginative games from the everyday. In one episode, Bluey and Bingo turn the house into a hotel for Bandit, which inspired my daughter to slap every door with a room number and open a front desk (rooms range from $1 a night to $200). The hotel game is play, of course, but not lesson-free. The kid lesson: how to run a commercial enterprise. For the parent, the realisation that sometimes kids' games come with a bonus – a few minutes of blessed rest while lying in your "hotel" bed.

Netflix calls time on partnership with Marvel, ends remaining shows

Five years after Netflix teamed with Marvel Television for a run of the series, Netflix has announced the cancellation of The Punisher and the series conclusion of Jessica Jones. The news, which follows last year's cancellation of Luke Cage, Daredevil and The Iron Fist, ends the Disney-owned Marvel's partnership with the streaming giant.

The demise of the two shows was confirmed in a statement by Netflix. "Marvel's The Punisher will not return for a third season on Netflix," it read, acknowledging the work of showrunner Steve Lightfoot, star Jon Bernthal and the cast and crew.

Marvel has cancelled Jessica Jones, starring Krysten Ritter.

Indeed, Marvel TV already has its queue lined up. In early February, it confirmed a deal with Hulu for four animated series. As reported in The Los Angeles Times, "The four series, which will target adults and be comedic in tone, are: M.O.D.O.K, featuring an egotistical super villain; Tigra & Dazzler Show, about the struggles of two best friends; Howard the Duck; and Hit-Monkey, about a Japanese snow monkey."

Marvel's brand will also be a major driver for Disney's own upcoming streaming service. Called Disney+, the Netflix competitor is slated to launch in the US by the end of the year.

Australian streaming service Stan, owned by Nine – the publisher of this masthead, recently acquired the Disney catalogue leading pundits to believe Disney+ won't be launched in Australia for the foreseeable future.

Stan is yet to reveal whether Marvel TV assets form part of the deal with Disney.

Megan Barton Hanson makes time for hamster Jon Snow after spending Valentine's Day without ex Wes Nelson

The 24-year-old reality star moved out of the Camden home she shared with her ex last weekend and spent Valentine's Day in her new flat as a single woman.

Enjoying her pet's company, Megan took to her Instagram story on Friday night to capture a sweet moment between the two as she fed him a Nik Nak crisp, although the flavour wasn't revealed.

The blonde bombshell said as she videoed the cricetinae: "Jon, do you want a little Nik Nak? You're so cute."

Although her attempts to slowly push the crisp through his cage fell by the waste side as mischievous Jon, who is affectionately named after Kit Harington's Game Of Thrones character, gobbled it in one go.

Megan said: "Just nibble it, you don't have to steal the whole thing!"

Megan broke up with Wes last month after growing jealous of his relationship with his professional Dancing On Ice partner, Vanessa Bauer.

Although nothing romantic has happened between Wes and Vanessa, the star admitted that she was struggling to cope and publicly slammed the skater for "disrespecting" her relationship.

At the time of the announcement, Megan jokingly asking for Jon's "space and privacy to be respected at this difficult time" as they vowed to co-parent the animal.

However, Wes told The Sun Online that Megan could keep their hamster and wouldn't be battling her for custody – after he was billed for the pet's upkeep.

The fluffy pet, who Wes says he paid for, has been at the centre of their split after Megan told Wes he had to contribute if he wanted to be part of Jon's life.

The Love Island star exclusively told The Sun Online last week: "I do love Jon, he’s a top bloke," he said. "I will see him again."

"I won't be battling for custody of Jon Snow though – she can keep him! But hopefully I can pay a few visits in future, even though me and Megs aren't together, it's about our son at the end of the day."

He revealed that Megan's mum had been caring for their pet in the wake of their shock split, which came just a day after their flat was ransacked by burglars.

Discussing the distressing situation, Wes told us: "I came home and the house had been burgled. Saw Jon was there, they didn't want Jon.

"The day we got burgled we moved out, we didn’t stay there. We didn't feel it was safe to be in the apartment, people knew where we lived.

He continued: "Jon had to come with us, Megan took him and gave Jon to her mum. She hasn't seen him since the burglary, neither have I. I bloody paid for the thing myself.

He concluded: "It's our hamster, but Megan had the hamster to begin with. I came home and Jon was there, I had no choice in it."

It was previously revealed that Megan's brother Kurtis had taken the pet in after she kidnapped him from Wes.

What time is the Shipwrecked final on E4 tonight, what's the prize and how does the survival show work?

But now that it's coming to an end, here's all you need to know about the 2019 finale.

What time is the Shipwrecked final on E4 tonight?

Shipwrecked 2019 finale is on E4 TONIGHT (Friday, February 15, 2019) at 9pm.

This will be the 15th instalment of the series and sees the Tigers and Sharks face a final emotional beach party.

And, of course, we will finally find out who the winner of Shipwrecked 2019 will be.

The series was filmed over last summer on two small islands in the lagoon at Aitutaki, one of the Cook Islands in the South Pacific.

The Sun had exclusively revealed back on April 16, 2018, that Channel 4 Bosses earmarked Shipwrecked for a "supercharged" return in 2019 after being inspired by the success of Love Island.

A TV insider had said: “Lots of people have fond memories of watching Shipwrecked in their youth and dreaming about joining the fun in paradise.

“Now Channel 4 have decided to give millennials the same experience, after Love Island proved sun-kissed hunks and beauties frolicking in a tropical setting can result in huge ratings.

“While there have been similar shows recently, like The Island and Mission Survive, they are all about making people miserable by forcing them to fight for their lives in the wild.

“On Shipwrecked, the biggest hardship the castaways faced was getting tan lines. It should go down well with the snowflake generation.”

Filming for the reality show took place last summer.

What's the prize?

The tribe that wins the show will get to sail away with £50,000 in their pocket.

Sharing is caring, so they'll be splitting the cash among themselves.

How does Shipwreck work?

The show saw a group of 18 to 24-year-olds shipwrecked on a desert island.

They had to battle it out for survival with basic rations.

The show saw the group of castaways struggle to survive on the tropical island as they competed against each other to win a cash prize.

The revamped show will follow the format of the more recent series, with two separate islands, Shark and Tiger, attempted to win over new arrivals with their living facilities, personalities and team necklaces.

The largest tribe at the end will be crowned winners.

The “supercharged” element of the new series seems to be that “this time the islands will hold secrets, hidden treasures and tempting traps that could change the islanders’ winning hopes”.

Was Andrew Lincoln narrating Shipwrecked?

Strictly star Vick Hope narrated the show this year.

Andrew narrated the show from when it started in 2000 through to 2001.

He's since gone on to become a TV megastar thanks to his role on The Walking Dead.

From 2006 the show was voiced by Queer as Folk and Corrie star Craig Kelly.

What is the history behind Shipwrecked?

Shipwrecked was one of the earliest reality shows, launching on Channel 4 way back in 2000.

It ran for three series before going off air in late 2001.

In 2006, it came back with a new “battle of the islands” format where rival tribes competed to recruit newcomers in a bid to be the largest group and take home up to £100,000 in prize money.

In total, Shipwrecked ran for eight series, with a final “back to basics” edition on E4 in 2012.

The show marked the first TV appearances of Jeff Brazier and Sarah-Jane Crawford, as well as Celebrity Big Brother winner Stephen Bear.

'RHOBH' Tea Time: Kyle and Lisa Butt Heads Before Dorit Dog Drama Takes Over Season Premiere

Denise Richards also enters the fray, and you better believe Charlie Sheen’s name comes up right away.

They’re baaaaack!

Tuesday’s "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" Season 9 kicked off with quite the bang, as Kyle Richards, Lisa Vanderpump, Lisa Rinna, Erika Girardi and Dorit Kemsley welcomed Denise Richards — and brand new drama — to the group.

We have lots to tell you, so sit back, grab a glass of Vanderpump Rosé and enjoy the read.

LVP had just gotten back from England after attending the funeral of her only brother, who sadly lost his life to suicide. Her emotions were all over the place, and she could hardly hear his name mentioned without crying. Ken Todd and all of Lisa’s pups did their best to comfort the restaurant mogul, but she had to grieve in her own way — by diving into work.

As soon as she got back from England, she opened TomTom, a bar named after and run by "Vanderpump Rules" stars Tom Sandoval and Tom Schwartz. Lisa had invited Kyle, who was exhausted after returning from Europe herself and said she was unable to attend. Vanderpump was okay with it, but the topic came up when Kyle and Teddi stopped by to visit Lisa’s dog rescue center, Vanderpump Dogs.

"I wanted you to come that night," Lisa said to Kyle in front of Teddi and her entire staff.

"Lisa, you’re so full of shit right now. I really am not gonna do this with you," Kyle said sternly. "I’m not gonna do this with you. I’m really not, okay? I’m not gonna do this with you. I landed from a plane. It was 4 in the morning for me. I called, and you said, ‘It’s not my party. I didn’t invite everyone.’ So you can do this to me and be a bitch about it, but Dorit can drop off a dog and you’re just like, ‘She didn’t mean it!’ I’m not gonna f–king do this with you again."

More on the Dorit dog thing in a minute…

So Kyle stormed off, only to be chased down by LVP, who thought she was just being dramatic. The conversation didn’t go well, so Kyle stormed off again. Lisa looked to Teddi for backup, but Teddi actually stood firm and said, "Here’s the thing: I know you’re joking, but I know she takes it super sensitive."

Kyle came back and got up in Lisa’s face. "You’re looking for shit to start out with me. I can already feel it," she shouted. Lisa grabbed Kyle and said, "Kyle, I love you."

"Then f–king act like it!" Kyle angrily shot back. That’s when LVP broke down.

She paused, looked at her longtime friend with tears in her eyes and said, "I’m sorry. I love you."

"I just wanted you to come by and see my new restaurant. I haven’t been coping very well," she said sobbing. Walking away from the cameras, Lisa told Kyle she felt like she’d made an "idiot" of herself. Kyle and Teddi assured her she hadn’t and sat with her on the stairs as she collected herself. It was actually a beautiful moment.

But back to the dog drama!

A while back, it was reported that there was some tension between Lisa and Dorit after Dorit adopted a dog from Vanderpump Dogs — a dog Lisa later found at a shelter. The topic came up because Lisa’s right-hand man and the person who runs the rescue center, John Sessa, mentioned it to Kyle. Teddi had already heard the news a week prior from another staff member.

Lisa said she "1,000 percent" did not want to talk about the situation and seemed angry John brought it up, but he was "pissed!" After all, he’s the one who cared for Penny before she was adopted by Dorit.

"It was not handled properly," he said, but Lisa maintained it wasn’t Dorit’s fault, adding, "Maybe in her mind, she believed it was going to a good home."

Here’s what Lisa told Bravo cams about the ordeal: "Dorit adopted Lucy from our foundation, and then the puppy ended up in a shelter. So then the shelter alerted us — because we have microchips in all our dogs — that they had one of our dogs down there. There is no way that she would’ve just given the dog away to be dropped off at a shelter. I 1,000 percent stand by that."

Here’s what Dorit told Erika about the ordeal: "We got this beautiful, adorable little puppy from Vanderpump Dogs. She was not the right fit for the family. After Lucy had bit the kids a few times and took a big bite out of PK’s face, [we thought maybe we should find another home for her]. So here I am thinking that she’s going to this beautiful home, and I get a phone call from Lisa that Lucy ended up in a shelter. She wasn’t mad at me, I just think she was a little concerned. As I was!"

Dorit later explained she had given Penny to a "wonderful woman" who had fallen in love with her and told Lisa as much when she questioned her about it. Dorit said she did it "with the absolute best of intentions" but was informed that it’s against the policy of Vanderpump Dogs to give your adopted pup to anyone except back to them.

Sorry this recap is so dog heavy, but it’s going to be a thing going forward this season.

Elsewhere, Rinna invited Denise, Erika and Dorit over for some drinks. Naturally, the topic of Denise’s ex, Charlie Sheen, came up in conversation.

"We did this movie called ‘Good Advice,’" Rinna told Denise about her 1999 film with Sheen. "I’m in the first scene with him, and do you know that he’s licking my toes in that scene?" Denise laughed it off, as we’re sure she’s heard much worse.

Rinna’s known Denise for "28 to 30 years." They first met when they started modeling. Kyle, on the other hand, has known Charlie for even longer. His best friend was one of Kyle’s ex-boyfriends, and she admittedly hated when the two hung out together.

Later at Kyle’s pool party, Teddi accidentally let out a, "Winning!" in front of Denise, and Erika had to tell her why we can’t say that in front of Denise.

"The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on Bravo.

What Time Is The 2019 Grammys Red Carpet? You Don’t Want To Miss A Minute Of These Looks

Get ready red carpet lovers because music’s biggest night is almost here, and the fashions are going to be everything. You definitely don’t want to miss a second of the Grammy show, but what time is the 2019 Grammys red carpet? Sure, the performances are great, but those red carpet looks are equally as part of the show as they are. Hello, remember Lady Gaga’s iconic egg entrance? That was a performance unto itself.

This year at the Grammys, some of your favorite — and most fashion forward — artists will be attending. Alicia Keys is hosting, and you know she’ll definitely give fans a serious lewk. Of course, who could forget that Janelle Monae is set to perform, and if there’s someone who knows how to make a statement on a red carpet, it’s her. Did you see her Golden Globes look? Don’t forget that Cardi B is both nominated and performing. She’ll undoubtedly walk the carpet. Here’s hoping for a repeat of how gorgeous she looked last year. Finally, but certainly not least important, with multiple nominations for her song "Shallow," Lady Gaga is also more than likely to make a red carpet appearance.

Basically, the 2019 Grammy red carpet may just be one of the most exciting in the history of the award show. When can you catch it?

According to the Grammy Award website, the show itself is set to air on CBS Sunday, Jan. 10 at 8pm ET. Of course, this means that the red carpet will be earlier in the evening. The official Grammy live stream is being held at the Grammy website and begins two hours before the official show at 6pm ET. However, it’s not the only way that you can stream all the stars arriving on the red carpet.

The Grammys are one of the biggest awards shows of the season (its nickname is even music’s biggest night), so of course, red carpet coverage will be happening on E! . The network will also begin their coverage of the big event beginning at 4pm ET, so if you’ve got a cable subscription and really love hearing Ryan Seacrest talk about his line of suits, you can get your red carpet fix there.

Of course, given that the show is actually on a major cable network, CBS will be hosting their own pre-Grammy red carpet show at 7pm ET. However, if you want a bit of extra Grammy goodness, CBS will start their livestream of the event at 5pm ET, an hour before everyone else.

Clearly, there’s no shortage of ways to stream the Grammy red carpet or catch it on cable. However, if you want to see everything from start to finish, you need to set your fashion alarm for 4pm ET if you want a bit of extra content and 6pm if you’re ready to catch the arrivals. With so many talented (and stylish AF) nominees, the 2019 Grammy red carpet may just be the best one of all of the 2019 red carpet season.

Academy confirms no host at Oscars after Kevin Hart homophobic tweets

Academy publicist confirms there will be NO official Oscar’s host for the first time in 30 years after Kevin Hart homophobic tweet row – and 13 A-listers including Daniel Craig and Jennifer Lopez will hand out gongs

  • Presenting duties to be shared among 13 stars at 91st Academy Awards show
  • Comes after Kevin Hart was forced to quit over tweets between 2009 and 2011
  • Tina Fey, Whoopi Goldberg, Daniel Craig and Jennifer Lopez among the 13 hosts

There will be no official host at the Oscars for the first time in 30 years after Kevin Hart was forced to quit following the resurfacing of a series of homophobic tweets.

A publicist for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences told Fox News Monday night that the show would go on without a central host for only the second time in its history.

Instead, presenting duties at the 91st Academy Awards show will be shared among 13 stars including Tina Fey, Whoopi Goldberg, Brie Larson, Daniel Craig and Jennifer Lopez.

Actor and comedian Kevin Hart was forced to step down in December amid a slew of backlash over a series of tweets dating back to 2009, including one in which he said he wouldn’t let his son play with dolls because ‘that’s gay’.

The 91st Academy Awards show will air without a main presenter after Kevin Hart quit over a series of homophobic tweets

Hart had refused to apologize for a 2011 tweet in which he said he would tell his son it was gay to play with a doll house

A 2009 now-deleted tweet from Hart displays his anti-gay humor

The 39-year-old initially said he wouldn’t stand down from his role and refused to say sorry, because people were ‘looking for reasons to be negative’ and ‘angry’.

But just two hours later, Hart issued an apology to the LGBTQ community and resigned as Oscars host.

‘I have made the choice to step down from hosting this year’s Oscar’s….this is because I do not want to be a distraction on a night that should be celebrated by so many amazing talented artists,’ the comedian tweeted on December 6, just two days after being named host. ‘I sincerely apologize to the LGBTQ community for my insensitive words from my past.’

This year’s ceremony will be the first since the 61st Academy Awards show to air without a main presenter.

James Bond star Daniel Craig and Jennifer Lopez are among 13 stars to share the presenting duties this year

Whoopi Goldberg will also take to the stage to present the 91st Academy Awards show

The host-less show in 1989 started with an 11-minute musical segment. It was branded an ’embarrassment’ by 17 big names in Hollywood, including Dame Julie Andrews and actor Paul Newman, who wrote a letter slamming Oscar bosses.

‘The 61st Academy Awards show was an embarrassment to both the Academy and the entire motion picture industry,’ the letter stated, according to History.com.

‘It is neither fitting nor acceptable that the best work in motion pictures be acknowledged in such a demeaning fashion.’

Chris Evans, Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph, Charlize Theron, Awkwafina, Amandla Stenberg, Tessa Thompson and Constance Wu will also share the stage to present gongs.

The 39-year-old apologized on Twitter hours after refusing to say sorry because people were ‘looking for a reason to be angry’

The comedian announced he would step down and then apologized to the LGBTQ community for his ‘insensitive words’

After initially being announced as presenter, Kevin Hart shared a heartfelt post revealing it was a dream come true to host the Oscars.

But  a series of tweets dating from 2009 to 2011 surfaced in which the comedian spewed blatant anti-gay rhetoric.

In 2011, he wrote in a since-deleted tweet: ‘Yo if my son comes home & try’s 2 play with my daughters doll house I’m going 2 break it over his head & say n my voice ”stop that’s gay.”

The comedian has since deleted the tweets, but that wasn’t before screen captures began circulating online, gaining widespread criticism.

Earlier in the day, Hart responded to criticism in a way that further inflamed backlash just two days after he was named host of the upcoming Academy Awards.

He wrote on Instagram that critics should ‘stop being negative’. In an accompanying video, a shirtless Hart lounging in bed warily said he wasn’t going to ‘let the craziness frustrate me.’

‘I’m almost 40 years old. If you don’t believe that people change, grow, evolve? I don’t know what to tell you,’ said Hart, who added, in all-caps: ‘I love everybody.’

His refusal to admit fault and apologize for the tweets sparked public outcry for the removal of his hosting gig.

Hart initially took to Instagram to say he was not going to apologize for his comments, despite being given an ultimatum from the academy

GLAAD, the advocacy group for LGBTQ rights, said it had reached out to Oscars broadcaster ABC, the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences and Hart’s management to ‘discuss Kevin’s anti-LGBTQ rhetoric and record.’

Hart’s attitudes about homosexuality were also a well-known part of his stand-up act.

In the 2010 special Seriously Funny, he said ‘one of my biggest fears is my son growing up and being gay.’

‘Keep in mind, I’m not homophobic, I have nothing against gay people, do what you want to do, but me, being a heterosexual male, if I can prevent my son from being gay, I will,’ Hart said in the routine.

Though he refused to apologize for his comments twice, he conceded after several hours.

‘I’m sorry that I hurt people. I am evolving and want to continue to do so. My goal is to bring people together not tear us apart. Much love & appreciation to the Academy. I hope we can meet again,’ Hart tweeted.
