This is the nail-biting moment a reckless driver avoids smacking into an oncoming car after zooming on to the wrong side of the road to overtake.
Dramatic dashcam footage reveals the motorists’ brush with death on a country road in Cumbria yesterday.
And the prospect of a crash is made even more terrifying because the careless driver is thought to have been carrying children.

The short clip shows a rural strip of narrow B-road between Allonby and Maryport at about 6.30pm.
There are no vehicles in front of the dashcam car, which is travelling at roughly 50mph, but there are lots of oncoming ones on the other side of the road.
An approaching black car, thought to be a Dacia Duster, gets closer and closer before it is only several metres away.
Suddenly, a blue Ford screeches around the dashcam car before violently swerving back on to the left side of the road, missing the Dacia by inches while a horn sound blasts out.

Unfazed by the dice with death, the Ford driver zooms away into the distance without stopping
The driver posted the video to a closed Facebook group later that day saying ‘B5300 coast road this evening – gave me quite a turn.’
They said: ‘I was stunned. I didn’t see him coming, but it was clear the oncoming car certainly did!
‘I was amazed how he didn’t hit something or someone, and on replay even more amazed – there doesn’t seem to be enough room!’
He added: ‘I think it might be worth identifying the vehicle who would have taken the impact head on, he had kids in the car I think. Could have been dreadful.’
Asked if the Ford came within inches of the driver’s car, he replied: ‘I think less, I was surprised I wasn’t hit.
‘I suspect the vehicle oncoming braked sufficiently to create a gap, because you can observe my speed does not change.’
