January Jones Just Documented Dying Her Own Eyebrows In Multiple No-Makeup Selfies

  • January Jones just documented dying her eyebrows on her Instagram Stories.
  • She practiced brow tinting at home, showing the results in multiple no-makeup selfies.
  • January didn’t show a photo of the finished product, but did call herself “Groucho.”

January Jones isn’t letting quarantine come between her and her beauty routine. The Mad Men alum invited fans to follow along with her DIY eyebrow tinting on Instagram, and the results are full “Groucho,” as the actress herself says. She shared multiple photos of the brow dying process, without a speck of makeup in any of them. And even with some added eyebrow oomph, she looks gorgeous in every. single. snap.

ICYDK, eyebrow tinting is a longer-term solution for people who want fuller brows without microblading or filling them in with makeup every morning. It’s essentially brow dye that will last three to six weeks, depending on your cycle of natural hair growth, Clementina Richardson of Envious Lashes previously told Women’s Health.

In order to tint your brows, Richardson stresses using a kit created specifically for that purpose (or a men’s beard dye designed for the face), and do a patch test 24 hours beforehand so you know your skin won’t react poorly to the treatment. (Boxed hair dye should NOT be used to tint your eyebrows, as the chemicals are too strong for the face.) The entire process takes about 45 minutes, and afterwards, you shouldn’t get them wetor use any exfoliants or oil-based cleansers for 24 hours afterward, says Richardson.

While January’s eyebrows are the main event in her IG Story, the 42-year-old actress’s skin looks flawless, too. She told Elle in 2016 that she’s a skincare fanatic, and goes through an elaborate ritual every day. “My skincare ritual is pretty high maintenance, but I love it,” January said. “I make it high-maintenance. I don’t get facials, I do them at home, so I love doing exfoliation masks and moisture masks and serums and creams and eye patches. I just love all that stuff.”

Though her medicine cabinet is stocked with high-end goodies, some of her affordable faves include Ginger Leaf and Hibiscus Firming Mask from Kiehl’s, the Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Rescue Mask, the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion, and the Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water.
