Aloe vera is well known for its soothing skincare benefits but according to TikTokers, it works wonders with hair too.
Content creators have been sharing tutorials on how to use the green stuff on your hair to revive the scalp.
Hair influencer Jonathan Monroe is one of the people who revealed his DIY hair mask, using the gel inside the aloe vera as a natural conditioner.
Jonathan shows viewers how to extract the gel from the plant and apply it to the head, massaging every bit all over his locks.
He tells his viewers: ‘Aloe vera promotes hair growth, prevents itching of the scalp, reduces dandruff and conditions the hair.’
Jonathan isn’t the only one trying the trick out as the aloe vera hashtag has amassed an impressive 353 million views on the platform.
So should you be popping on the Patch Plants website to create your own aloe vera hair mask or is this a bit of a passing fad?

Personalised.co nutritionist Donia Hilal specialises in supplements, diet myths, and foods that stimulate hair growth, healthy nails, and clear skin.
She says there’s not enough research to suggest aloe vera does make your hair grow faster.
She tells Metro.co.uk: ‘Aloe vera has gained some popularity in recent times to promote hair health and thickness, however, there is no robust evidence to support this trend.
‘Instead, it is best to focus on including plenty of hair growth supporting nutrients in your diet which include adequate protein, biotin, selenium, and zinc.’
Though the gel may not make your hair thicker or longer, it does have a hydrating effect that is good for dry hair.
With a very high water content, the gel can help repair dry scalps and clean oily hair.
Just make sure you’re not allergic to the stuff.
