Ben Shephard pays emotional tribute as Good Morning Britain guest dies

Good Morning Britain presenter Ben Shephard has paid tribute to a guest of the show who has sadly died.

The TV host took to Twitter after it was announced that Jack Reynolds, a daredevil pensioner who broke four Guinness World Records for charity between the ages of 104 and 107, died aged 108.

The family of Jack, who was from Derbyshire, announced his sad passing on Saturday afternoon saying he had fallen ill in December last year.

Ben took to social media to pay tribute to the beloved guest of the show, tweeting: “If there was ever a person that embodied the spirit of living every moment to the max it was Jack.

“It was a privilege to share his energy, smile and spirit with nation. Katy you helped him share that story wonderfully. Farewell Jack what a life lived!"

Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid also paid tribute to Jack on Monday’s show, with Piers saying: “He moved all of us, he inspired all of us, he was a great man.”

Jack’s daughter Jayne Goodwin, 59, announced the sad news of his death.

"There will be the massivest gap in my life. There will just be a big void but he's left his legacy," she said.

Jack had become the oldest person to ride a rollercoaster aged 105 and in 2018 the oldest person to ride a zip wire.

He also broke his last record at 107 when he became the oldest person to perform as a supporting artist on Hollyoaks.
