Emma Willis, 44, has addressed her worries for friend Giovanna Fletcher, saying she will miss her children “desperately” while she is made to camp in the freezing cold conditions of Gwrych Castle in Wales for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! 2020. The Voice UK 2020 host said that the blogger will struggle to be away from her three children and husband Tom Fletcher while she competes to become queen of the castle.

It will get to her

Emma shared with The Daily Mail: “If she’s in there until the end that’s three weeks, and she’s also in isolation now without her children so that will be four – that’s a bl**dy long time for any parent.

“I have no doubt it will get to her and she will desperately miss them, but she watches I’m A Celeb every year and she knows exactly what she’s getting into.

“She’s pretty clued-up and a huge fan of the show, Dougie [Poynter, Tom’s bandmate] and Matt [Willis] have been in it and won it so she knows exactly what to expect.”

Although the Big Brother presenter said that her husband Matt did not have any words of wisdom to offer Giovanna.

Matt competed back in the 2006 series of the show and became jungle king.

She explained: “He didn’t give her any tips, he just said you’re going to have the best time of your life.

“It’s one of Matt’s most favourite experiences, he had the best time in there.”

Emma, however, did recommend that the Happy Mum Happy Baby podcast host take extra clothing in her suitcase to protect herself from “bugs crawling up places” that are less than pleasant.

Emma revealed in her interview with The Sun: “She came round just before lockdown and I was like, ‘What’s your luxury item going to be?’ she didn’t know and I said, ‘You have to take cycling shorts – long cycling shorts!’

“She was like, ‘Why would you do that?’ and I said, ‘So bugs aren’t going to crawl up the places you don’t want them to crawl up!’

“She hadn’t thought about that and was like, ‘Oh my god, I need to take cycling shorts!’ – nobody wants a cockroach up the butt or any other orifice.”

However, bosses are said to have rejected the fashionable clothing item for a very specific reason.

“But she wasn’t allowed because that’s clothing – you can only take in the clothing they approved,” she added.

Emma and Giovanna have been friends for over 15 years, and the former was more than happy to provide her bestie with some tips ahead of her appearance in the 2020 series.

Recently the besties appeared on White Wine Question Time with Kate Thornton, as Emma explained how she first met her spouse.

The couple went out on a date after she saw Matt perform on TV with his band Busted, prompting her to ask him out.

“I was watching Saturday Night Takeaway and Busted were on it and Blue were on it,” the presenter told presenter Kate.

“I had met Matt a couple of months before and we’d all had a massive group night out and we got on really well and I thought, ‘Oh, maybe I should call him?’ I didn’t know how to get hold of him.”

The former model, who now has a clothing range out with Next, used her connections to secure a phone call with the rockstar.

She recalled: “I called Tim [Kash who used to present MTV news] and said, ‘Can you pass my number on to Simon Webbe who is on the telly at the minute and get him to give it to Matt who is on the telly with him and ask him to give me a call?’”
