Inside Lauren Goodger’s pre-baby holiday as she meets doula to help birth anxiety

Help From My Doula

I started hypnotherapy and meditation this week with my doula, which is someone you have there to support you through your birth. Having a doula is very spiritual and I'm open to anything. Anything that's going to get me through this birth I'm just going to give a go, ha. We didn't actually start the yoga this week, but it was all about closing your eyes and practicing breathing techniques.

She said to me, "I wish I'd met you sooner," because she's going to help me get rid of the worry and anxiety about giving birth that all mums have. She's going to help me with my home birth too. I'll also have my midwife friend Marie and the NHS midwife there during the labour as well – not long to go now!

Our Date Night

Charlie and I had a lovely time at The Cave hotel in Canterbury. It was only a night's stay, but it was so lovely! I really needed it. It was a nice break for us both and we had some quality time together and everything – the restaurant, food and staff – were all lovely. They had an indoor pool which was brilliant to get into – it's the first time I've been swimming since I've been pregnant. I loved it. The room was amazing – I could live in it! Me and Charlie said that we're so glad we did it, to get some quality time together. It's so important to do things like little date nights together.

Pamper Day

I'm hopefully going to get the go ahead to move house soon. Things are moving along, but I don't think I'm going to have time before the baby to start moving addresses. But I'm doing my last day at the clinic this week and I've got a mobile masseuse coming round to give me a pregnancy massage, which will be nice. I've also got a blow-dry and my lash extensions booked in, so I'm going to have a little pamper before the baby comes.

Bye For Now!

This is my last column for OK! and I'm going to go off for some much needed maternity leave. It's been so nice keeping you updated on my journey to becoming a mum and I hope it's helped other women going through pregnancy, and all the worries that come with it. Looking forward to catching up with all my OK! readers soon.
