Garson passed away at the age of 57 on Tuesday following a battle with pancreatic cancer, prompting a flood of tributes from friends and colleagues.

However, close friend Parker, 56, had waited to give her response until Friday, saying that it had been ‘unbearable’ in a moving Instagram post, while sharing a series of vintage snaps of the two actors together.

‘It’s been unbearable,’ Parker’s emotional post began, adding: ‘Sometimes silence is a statement.’

Long before working together playing best friends Carrie Bradshaw and Stanford Blatch respectively, the pair had been real-life friends for over thirty years.

The pair are even said to have first met on a blind date, and while it didn’t work out romantically, they remained friends both on and off screen.

Parker’s tribute continued: ‘Of the gravity. The anguish. The magnitude of the loss of a 30 + year friendship.’

‘A real friendship that allowed for secrets, adventure, a shared professional family, truth, concerts, road trips, meals, late night phone calls, a mutual devotion to parenthood and all the heartaches and joy that accompany, triumphs, disappointments, fear, rage and years spent on sets (most especially Carrie’s apartment) and laughing late into the night as both Stanford and Carrie and Willie and SJ.’

The lengthy post continued: ‘Willie. I will miss everything about you. And replay our last moments together. I will re-read every text from your final days and put to pen our last calls.’

Garson added that he knew both Parker and Cynthia Nixon – who plays Miranda – as ‘children’ because they were all actors in New York City.

‘We were the three who kind of knew each other a little bit. And I knew Sarah very well, but I didn’t know Cynthia that well. So I just, I miss spending more time with her,’ he continued in the interview.

The new Sex and the City series will be dedicated to late actor Willie Garson, who died of pancreatic cancer at age 57 this week

DailyMail.com reported Friday that the new Sex and the City series will be dedicated to late actor – and his death may be written into season two, show insiders have revealed.

A source close to the show told DailyMail.com that with the script already ‘set in stone’ and Garson’s part largely filmed in July, his passing will not be included as a plot point in the HBO Max reboot And Just Like That.

But executives and writers, including Sarah Jessica Parker, are considering how to deal with his absence in the second run, the insider said, and added that the first season will be dedicated to him in the credits when it hits screens in the next few months.

On Wednesday, Parker’s co-star Kristin Davis gave an intimate look at her close bond with Garson, sharing a heartfelt tribute that described him as someone who could ‘immediately’ make her laugh.
