Jake Quickenden has revealed his girlfriend Sophie Church was told to "drown your baby" in horrific trolling against their baby son Leo.
Opening about how “shocked” he has been by the awful abuse he has received since welcoming the little one, the former X Factor star said something needs to be done about laws surrounding social media.
The 32-year-old told new magazine: “It really shocked me. I’m used to people trolling me, but because I don’t respond to them, they saw an opportunity to target Leo instead.
“It hurt, but you have to ask yourself, 'Why are people doing this?' Sophie received one saying, 'Why don’t you drown your baby.' Something must change with the online laws.”
Jake has previously opened up about the cruel trolling his son has been subject to, revealing one troll said Leo was “ugly as f**k” and “needs Botox”.
Jake and Sophie named their son Leo Oliver in memory of Jake's late brother Oliver, who passed away in 2012 after suffering with bone cancer.
Sophie is also mum to son Freddie, six, from a previous relationship.
Jake, who finished runner-up on the 2014 series of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, has said Leo’s arrival has brought with it some comfort following his losses, which also includes the sad death of his dad Paul in 2008 to the same disease his brother died from.
He said: “Since Leo came into my life, it feels as if he fills that void because I now have a new journey with him.
"He has already helped me feel better about the past. My dad always taught me to do everything to the best of your ability. That is something I want to instil in both Leo and Freddie."
Leo arrived into the world in February, with Jake announcing the news on Instagram with a sweet snap.
He wrote: “I am so overwhelmed right now, but first I want to say Sophie you’re amazing and watching you during all this made me love you even more, I already know you’re an amazing mum and cannot wait to raise this beautiful little baby with you!!
