Death In Paradise actress Josephine Jobert, 36, returned to the show as her character DS Florence Cassell for the latest season. Ahead of the finale this evening, she pretended to cry as she referred to the end as the “saddest news”. In view of her 80,000 followers, she said on her Story: “First of all, saddest news of the day, week, month, year, life… tonight is the final of Death In Paradise.”
Over sad music, the actress jokingly pretended to cry to express her emotions.
She then panned the camera around to her window to show fans the poor weather, adding: “Secondly, today it’s raining.”
Josephine went on to say: “But, one good thing today, I ate amazing patisseries with my father.”
The actress then told fans she had created a competition to give them a chance to win a signed Death In Paradise-themed beach towel.
In order for her fans to win the item, she challenged them to answer which dress Florence was wearing at the end of the most recent episode.
Josephine had previously admitted she was apprehensive about returning to the BBC drama after leaving in 2015.
At the time, she cited “professional and personal” reasons for her departure, but reassured fans there had been “no drama”.
She tweeted: “Everything is fine it’s just that I’ve been working on Death in Paradise for five years.
“I loved every minute every minute of it.”
In an interview with Hello! Magazine, the actress said she is now hoping to stay on for another series.
When asked what’s next for her, she said: “Maybe series 11 of Death in Paradise, we’ll see! If it happens, it happens.
“I’m just going to live day by day and try and see my family and friends as much as we are allowed to.”

Josephine added she is also working on a movie with her mother.
In the same chat, the actress was asked her thoughts on a female taking on the role as a Bond girl.
She said: “Yes, I’d love it!
“It’s so funny, and I’m not making this up, I receive so many messages from people and fans who say to me, ‘You should be the next Bond girl.’
“It’s something that happens pretty often. And I screenshot every single message.
“I have to keep them just in case I meet the casting director and I can say ‘Look at this!'”
She went on to say that while she is a feminist, she doesn’t know if a female lead on the BBC show would work.
Death In Paradise airs tonight at 9pm on BBC One.
