Laura Whitmore relaxes at home after Love Island and Caroline Flack heartache

Laura Whitmore was relaxing at home with Iain Stirling after the end of the latest season of Love Island .

The BBC Radio 1 DJ, 34, has been seen in a new social media post by partner Iain Stirling in his latest Instagram story he uploaded last night.

The cute picture showed Laura reclined on the sofa beneath a blanket and with the couple's dog Mick.

They were taking time to relax following the heartbreak of their friend Caroline Flack's death a fortnight ago on February 15.

Iain captioned the picture: "My team."

He also tagged Laura in the picture while she posted a shot a few hours ago of them walking their dog in a green park area to her own Instagram story.

Laura captioned the rainbow-adorned adorable image: "#mickspics"

The pair will no doubt be enjoying a relaxing period following the conclusion of the winter run of Love Island which Laura presents and Iain voiceovers.

The couple was present as Paige Turley and Finley Tapp were crowned the winners of the latest series which was filmed in South Africa.

It was a series marked by tragedy following the death of Laura's friend and predecessor Caroline who took her own life on February 15.

Laura commented after Caroline's passing in an emotional broadcast on her Radio 1 show.

She said: "The problem wasn't the show, the show was loving, caring and safe and protective.

"The problem is, the outside world is not… People who make unkind comments on an online forum need to look at themselves. Sorry."

Meanwhile, Iain shared an emotional tribute of his own on the show following the death of Caroline.

Laura and Iain had gone on a relaxing break in South Africa after the end of the series but it seems they're having an even cosier and quiet time at home.

Love Island is expected to return in summer this year.
