Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are reportedly been eyed up to attend the Emmy Awards next month, it has been claimed.

Emmy Awards bosses are said to be "keen" for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to make their Hollywood red carpet debut at the A-list event in Los Angeles, California next month.

And TV bosses reportedly hope the Royal couple will present an award.

An LA TV source told The Sun: “The Sussexes are in high demand — it would be their first red carpet appearance since Megxit and their full-time Californian move.

“Oprah is planning to attend the night, which could help get them there.

“Certainly, there would be a VIP invite for them from Netflix at its evening celebration event.

“Netflix knows that shots of them with big Hollywood names would be huge PR.”

Meghan, who turns 40 today, and 36 year old Harry's explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey has been nominated for the Outstanding Hosted Nonfiction Series Or Special award and are the bookies' favourites to get their hands on the accolade.

The one-off interview is up against four other shows including My Next Guest Needs No Introduction With David Letterman.

Meanwhile, it's also been hoped that Oprah could bag a special award for her historic interview with the Royal couple, who'd daughter Lilibet was finally added to the line of secession recently.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are yet to confirm if they will in fact attend the glittering ceremony.

The main ceremony is being held on Sunday 19 September and will be hosted by US actor and comedian Cedric the Entertainer.

Meghan turns 40 on Wednesday 4 August and has reportedly hired celebrity party planner Colin Cowie to throw her a low-key celebration.

It's understood Meghan will invite 65 guests to her and Harry's £11 million mansion.

A source told the Mirror: "Meghan wants a small gathering. About 65 people are invited, her closest friends and family.

"Colin was recommended to her by Oprah who always puts on fabulous parties."
