Rebekah Vardy has claimed she was targeted by blackmailer who threatened to release sex videos of her.

The 38 year old is suing Wayne Rooney's wife Coleen, 34, for libel after she accused Rebekah's Instagram account of "informing the press of her online posts" last year.

Since Coleen’s accusation, Dancing on Ice star Rebekah denied the claims and has since filed a lawsuit against the WAG for defamation.

As part of the case, Rebekah detailed a string of attacks from trolls, which left her with "extreme anxiety".

The documents filed included a number of messages from trolls, including one that falsely claimed her husband Jamie Vardy had been unfaithful to her.

The troll, who described themselves as part of "Coleen's Army", also alleged that they had sex videos of her that they would release if she refused to send bitcoin to them.

The message read: "Hey Becki, For now I will be anonymous but represent Coleen’s Army. Coz it is payback time!

"This is very serious and if this leaks out there, it will be the end of you and Jamie. I have evidence of Jamie’s infidelity.

"Not only that, and what’s worse, I even have the nudes and the sex videos. Yours, of course. Just one thing – send 2.5 bitcoin (BTC) TODAY to this bitcoin wallet address…

"If I do not hear from you by this time tomorrow I will leak online and anonymously forward this evidence to the media. Waiting…"

Rebekah's statement, made by Hugh Tomlinson QC, claimed the message had been reported to the police as there was nothing to suggest there was any truth to the poster's threats.

"The constant, continuing widespread nature of the ridicule she endures, particularly online (where it remains online and is searchable)… has caused (and continues to cause) [Rebekah] mental anguish and continuing anxiety," the statement explained.

Tomlinson went on to address the initial accusation made by Coleen about Rebekah Vardy's account in which she wrote in an Instagram post: "I have saved and screenshotted all the original stories which clearly show just one person has viewed them. It’s…… Rebekah Vardy’s account."

Rebekah's representative Tomlinson said: "The very first line tells us she is looking for someone and not an account.

"As the post goes on she says she tried to figure out, this is the third paragraph, what she begins with is a suspicion.

"She had a suspicion about who it could be – an individual. We say the ordinary person reading on social media will inevitably come to the conclusion that Rebekah Vardy is responsible… she is the one who did the leaking."

Referring to the media coverage around the claims, he added: "It isn't entertaining for Mrs Vardy. It has and continues to be upsetting. In fact she did nothing wrong."
