Shirley Ballas: Strictly judge asks fans for help with surprising project away from show

Shirley Ballas, 59, called on her 163,000 Instagram followers for their assistance this evening when she revealed she is currently working on a new project away from Strictly Come Dancing. The Ballroom and Latin dance expert explained she was trying to remember the name of an old-fashioned cooling device as part of the move.

Addressing fans, she said: “Hi everybody, it’s Shirley and I’m doing a project and I need your help. It’s something from 50 years ago and my mother seems to think it was called an Oscold.”(sic)

Going on to explain what the mysterious object looked like, the television personality said: “It was something like this. It was plaster on the outside, stainless steel on the inside.

“It had a well in the top and then you poured water in the top and it kept everything on the inside cold. It did not plug in and I seem to remember it was called something like an oscold or an Osk or something and it kept your butter and your milk from going greasy.”(sic)

She continued: “It kept it somewhat cold and it was back then when we didn’t have enough refrigerators so we got this little machine so I’m just wondering if anybody out there remembers the correct name.”
