Stephen Bear ‘gutted’ as he shares tribute to ‘genuine’ CBB co-star Heavy D following death at 43

Stephen Bear has paid tribute to his Celebrity Big Brother co-star Heavy D, following his death at the age of 43.

Heavy D, real name Colin Newell, sadly died last week, according to reports.

The TV star is best known for appearing on the 18th series of Celebrity Big Brother in August 2016 alongside the likes of Stephen Bear, Marnie Simpson and Lewis Bloor.

Heavy D was the fourth to be evicted with Stephen Bear going on to win.

Bear has now taken to Instagram to share a tribute to him, as he shared a picture of them in the famous CBB house.

He wrote: “I’m gutted . The funniest and most genuine person you would ever meet . Always laughing and had such a kind heart . Always wanted to make sure everyone was ok and when you was down he would come over make sure your ok.

"Had the pleasure to live with you but now I feel was there something I could of done. It’s always the real ones that leave too early . Rip my brother . See you soon @heavydboom.”

According to The Mirror, Heavy D’s friend Nick Nevern tweeted: "I’m very shocked & saddened to hear of the passing of my friend @HeavyHeavyd.

"u lived ur life the way u wanted to & f**k anyone who didn’t like it! U always brought a smile to my face bro & lifted any room you where in. #RIPHeavyD."

Tributes have been pouring in for the star, who also appeared on Storage Hunters.

"He was such an upbeat guy and always spread positive energy. Rest In Peace Heavy D," one Twitter user wrote.

A second added: "Damn! That's shocking. Only 43 years old too. RIP Heavy D. Thoughts with his family and friends. Unreal."

And a third wrote: "Gutted to hear about heavy D rest in peace pal x done a great podcast with him and found the real person behind the mask x."
