Just a week ago, former Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay deleted her Instagram account after suffering severe online bullying. Sadly, the reality star having interviewed Chris Harrison, who subsequently stepped down from his hosting duties following their ill-fated chat, seemed to be the cause of what her podcast co-host Van Lathan called “rude and hateful” comments from online trolls.
Luckily, Bachelor Nation stepped up to support Lindsay, with friends like Becca Kufrin and her husband, Bryan Abasolo, speaking out on her behalf. And now, Lindsay is returning to Instagram with an uplifting post that reminds anyone who has faced opposition to be true to themselves, and continue to do what they think is right.
Taking to Instagram over the weekend, the formerly-embattled Bachelorette shared a photo of a vase of sunflowers, along with a moving caption: “I want to be like a sunflower so that even on the darkest days I will stand tall and find the sunlight” (via People).
Bachelor Nation and others react to Rachel Lindsay's triumphant return to Instagram
Among the many Bachelor Nation members who commented on Lindsay’s uplifting status was Jessenia Cruz from the current season of The Bachelor. “This hug might be virtual, but the love is very real. Welcome back!!” she wrote to the brave star. Her fellow castmate Katie Thurston noted, “All the love coming your way,” while past contestant Annaliese Puccini commented, “You are like a sunflower welcome back!”
Meanwhile, Selling Sunset‘s Chrishell Stause seconded Lindsay’s notion, writing, “Shining bright. Always.” Her rumored ex Keo Motsepe simply shared three heart emojis.
At time of writing, Lindsay’s post had over 108,000 likes.
It’s worth noting that the reality star also recently said she feels good about Harrison’s apology to her, which he delivered via an appearance on Good Morning America, with the podcast host telling Extra, “I do accept that and I think it’s important for me to say that because we need to move forward” (via Page Six).
