Hats are a part of the dress code for Royal Ascot. Whether it’s a perfectly chic fascinator or an avant-garde construction, fantastic hats are aplenty at the meet today.

Perhaps the most eye-catching of all was an enormous swan hat.

A huge, life-size version of the majestic bird – constructed with white feathers – sits atop a huge red net brim.

The fabulous hat was paired with a red embellished dress and diamond hoops by its glamorous wearer.

Another memorable piece is a pink, mesh, structural number with a star of feathers atop it, worn with a fabulous magenta suit.

One racegoer wore a dusty rose pink boater adorned with pale pink flowers.

A rainbow fascinator in sherbert pastels looked gorgeous, a ruffle of the popping candy hues from front to the back of the wearer’s head.

It was worn perfectly with a bold red lip.

A bright hat, constructed from stiff raffia, was another structural number, with a plume of folds.

One chic number, a felt boater with a face net sparkled with silver stars.

A summer number, a saucer style shape on the saucer hat boasted pastel flowers both on top of and under the rim.

Royal Ascot style is a source of fun and frivolity every year.

Yesterday’s hats featured massive feathers and flowers.

Who can be relied upon to dress up for Royal Ascot? The royals, of course.

Zara Tindall at Ascot today looked spectacular in a pale pink fascinator and a black print floral dress.

The dress is from a royal favourite brand worn by the likes of Meghan Markle and Princess Eugenie, Erdem.

She carried a small, pink leather purse and wore pale pink suede heels.

She covered her eyes with tortoiseshell shades.

Sophie Wessex at Ascot today look fabulous too in a green dress.

The deep green dress featured a silver palm embroidered design.

One person said: “Love a bold dress, simple accessories too.”
