KATE Middleton is one of the nation’s most stylish stars – and Princess Charlotte is following fast in her footsteps.
The Duchess of Cambridge, 38, is turning her adorable five-year-old daughter into her mini-me, and the pair increasingly step out in near-replica outfits.
One of the ways we are seeing Charlotte's style mirror Kate's is with matching coats, in a similar colour and style.
Kate wore a long green coat during a visit with the then-French President Francois Hollande at the Elysee Palace in Paris in 2017.
We later saw a mini verion on Charlotte as the royals stepped out on Christmas Day last year.
Royal stylist Lucas Armitage told Fabulous: "Kate’s look has been carefully curated over many years to display poise and a royal chic-ness many try to imitate, so it makes sense that’s Kate’s would pass on some style tips to her daughter.
"Charlotte is often seen in mini me creations of iconic Kate looks, as well as been incredibly cute it really does show everyone can learn something from Kates impeccable style."
Another time the royal mum and daughter duo matched was both wearing smart red coats in 2018.
Kate was a vision in red on Christmas Day, following her middle child in a mini version for her first day in nursery earlier in the year.
Charlotte not only wears similar coats to Kate, but they also have been seen in near-identical dresses.
This year in September, Kate looked bold in a pink floral dress, which looked like the longer version of a dress Charlotte wore in 2017.
Lucas added: "It’s also interesting to note the Charlotte and Kate never match together it’s always on separate occasions, this could be because the whole mini me trend seems a bit like a gimmick dare I say ‘attention seeking‘.
"We all know Kate has a quiet yet chic style that’s doesn’t employ stunts."
Kate’s beautiful wardrobe is partly down to stylist Natasha Archer, who has worked with the duchess since 2014.
She will typically assess any trends from the seasons ahead, and then discuss any styles, prints and patterns with Kate before approaching designers.
While Natasha was on maternity leave, Kate sought out the help of former Vogue editor Virginia Chadwyck-Healey.
A royal source told Daily Mail’s Richard Eden: “Ginnie is Catherine’s secret weapon.
“She has made a big difference to the Duchess’s wardrobe for public engagements and has helped give her a whole new sense of confidence.
“Catherine has been really impressed and is very grateful for her help.”
Ginnie is an old friend of Prince William and Kate, with the two women studying history of art at St Andrews together.
