TK Maxx shoppers blast £100 Joseph boots which look like ‘plastic hygiene covers’ you get in hospitals & swimming pools – The Sun

NOT only are they tedious and fiddly to put on – but the plastic covers you put over your shoes are generally considered a crime against fashion.

Which is why you usually only ever find them in controlled environments like hospitals, swimming pools and even slaughterhouses. *shivers*

But reasons we can't understand, you can now actually buy a pair of £100 boots from TK Maxx – which were originally priced at £520 – where the bottom half is wrapped in blue patent leather.

In other words, you can now try and turn plastic shoe covers into a strong style statement… but let's face it, it's never going to happen.

Designed by British fashion house Joseph, these black leather cowboy boots have a pointed toe and matching bright blue heel which gives the bizarre illusion of a plastic shoe cover.

Unsurprisingly, TK Maxx shoppers have been left similarly baffled by the design – and speculated what on earth the designers were thinking.

Labelling it "operating chic", one Facebook user wrote: "I wore something like that when I worked in an isolation unit in a hospital.

"We threw them away, if I had known I could sell them I'd be quid in."

Imagining where you could feasibly wear these boots, another joked: "When you have to perform surgery at 6 but be at the club by 7."

Although not to their taste, a third replied: "Handy if you go to the swimming pool often and can't be faffed with endlessly putting those b***** things on."

"You could visit a show home and not have to worry about putting little plastic protectors on the bottom of your shoes," another wrote.

And just to make matters even more confusing, there are only two pairs left on the website… if anyone fancies taking one for the team and trying them? Anyone?

In more bonkers fashion news, this PrettyLittleThing shopper was nearly sick after finding a dodgy white stain in the crotch of her black leather trousers.

And shoppers have poked fun at ASOS' new line for looking like an ASDA uniform.

Plus shoppers are horrified by this eye-popping ASOS leather skirt – and you definitely can't wear underwear with it.
