IT TURNS out we’ve been removing our Gatorade and other bottled refreshments from the plastic rings that hold them together incorrectly.
Rather than tugging at or trying to stretch out the plastic to free the bottles, there’s an easier – and correct – method.
“How old were you when you found out you didn’t take the Gatorades out like this or like this?” a TikToker said in a video as he tugged at the Gatorades to free them from the plastic rings keeping them together.
“There’s a little thing here and you peel it and they just come out,” he explained.
Sure enough, he pulled a tab on the plastic and it instantly came apart.
As he removed each bottle from the packaging, he said: “I’m so pissed that I didn't know this before ‘cause I was using all my strength pulling these things out … when I could have just been peeling this thing off.”

The video received thousands of comments from people expressing their own shock about the new and super useful information.
“If this ain't the definition of ‘standin’ in our own way,’” one intrigued person said.
“Not me still cutting the rings after I'm done pulling [and] tugging the bottles out,” a second viewer commented with a facepalm emoji.
“I’m sick of having gone this many years on Earth doing everything wrong,” another viewer wrote.
The last-mentioned person may be referring to the flood of tips, tricks, and life hacks shared online that accuse people of doing things wrong, from the way they cook food to how they clean and beyond.
For instance, one TikToker revealed we’ve been storing our fruit and herbs all wrong, while another explained why we’re using our stainless steel plans incorrectly.
Beyond the kitchen, a beauty guru claimed that we’ve been damaging our hair by brushing it incorrectly, while a cleaning expert said we aren’t even cleaning our toilets correctly.
