Microcurrent facial therapy has been in beauty clinics for years but comes with a very exclusive price tag. The technique has even been used as an alternative therapy in the medical field for people who have problems with facial muscles.Plus, new microcurrent device the Foreo Bear can be used at home – so you can have a go at giving yourself the treatment.
The Foreo Bear, aims to give you a healthy radiant glow with an all-in-one at home tightening therapy.
We were really excited to try this device, especially after seeing plenty of hype about it online. It's a small neat gadget that fits in your pocket and is easily transportable. You need to use it with the Foreo Serum which we slathered on in bucket loads! Then, we simply charged, before turning on and gliding over the skin!
It felt very smooth and even though it has levels of microcurrent, it wasn’t painful or uncomfortable. It felt slightly tingly in certain spots but that's normal with a beauty device that uses microcurrent.
Although it is recommended to use the Foreo daily to keep results we noticed a small lift after just one use. We're hooked!

Foreo Bear Review
We have 43 muscles in our faces and 26 in our necks. Over time and with sun, stress and ageing these can start to lose their firmness and tone. Of course, this is expected to a certain extent, but by having facials and good skincare routine we can keep our skin looking youthful and fresher.
Enter the Foreo Bear, the small device which aims to be THE skin saviour in your pocket.
By using microcurrent technology to lift, tighten and smooth, it's designed to be used as part of a daily morning or evening skincare routine. It's hailed as a spa-quality treatment at home with Tiktok and Instagram awash with people showing their take on it.
But what is microcurrent technology and how does it help your skin? Well, a microcurrent can stimulate the muscles under the skin – just like a workout. This makes the skin look more defined, which in turn helps to stimulate collagen production.
The muscles contract and the microcurrent sculpts the skin. Foreo Bear is mainly used to lift the eyebrows, define cheekbones, chin and even the neck.
Its T-Sonic pulsations exercise the 65+ muscles in your face and neck while it also features an Anti-Shock System. The sensors scan the skin’s resistance to electricity at a rate of 100x per second, detecting any kind of reaction – making it safe to use.
Unboxing the item is easy but you must read all the instructions before use. The device is controlled via Bluetooth and you can pair it with any smartphone – if you don’t have a smartphone and want to use it in manual mode, you will still need to borrow a smartphone to initially set it up.
First, we charged the device and then downloaded the Foreo app. It goes through a process of your skin type and what you wish to achieve – then ouila! You're ready to select the frequency and start using it.
Before use, we cleaned the skin thoroughly and made sure it was completely dry. Any oil or makeup residue will deflect the microcurrent, which is not what we want!
We then applied the Foreo serum to clean skin – this is specially formulated to create a compatible conductive serum to safely transfer microcurrent from the device through to the skin. This also helps the Bear to glide on the skin without any tugging.
It's recommended that you start with the number one frequency but, after starting with that, wefound we were able to swiftly move onto frequency three. The beauty of it is you can decide what feels best for your skin and gradually build up the chosen frequency over time. The timer is set at three minutes but we found this was over very quickly! So we did a further three minutes.
We also decided to try on one side of our face first, to see if there was any visible difference. We went over the cheeks, chin, forehead, above the eyebrows, and neck.
Although slight, there was a definite difference in the eyebrow which had lifted. We then did the other side of the face to complete the facial.
Afterward, the skin felt smooth and soft, the serum also really sinks into the skin without leaving any grease or residue.
The Foreo Bear is aimed as being an everyday beauty device and there are many 30 day challenges on Tiktok and Instagram you can even join in to track results.
It' s also a really fun, and relaxing way to start seeing results when used frequently. If used in the morning, it can help with depuffing the face after a night of slumber and regular use can promote lymphatic drainage. Foreo recommends doing the treatment once every 24 hours, rather than many times a day.
Afterwards, simply slather on your favourite face cream or combine your favourite skincare products for ultimate feel-good skin.

What does the Foreo Bear do?
The Foreo Bear uses a combination of safe microcurrent with Foreo’s T-Sonic pulsations for a complete microcurrent facial. Microcurrent stimulates muscles and collagen which in turn lifts the skin. The gentle T-Sonic pulsations massage the face as well which helps the absorption of serum into the skin. Some people call it a workout for your skin!
Does the Foreo Bear really work?
As with most beauty devices, the trick is repeated use to maintain results. Just using once or twice, although you can see a small difference won’t keep results for the longer term. Using it occasionally will not have the same results as using it daily- plus it also feels really nice to use after a long day!
How long do results from a microcurrent facial last?
If you can imagine your face going to the gym for a workout then this is what the aim on microcurrent treatments does to your skin. By building the strength in your facial muscles it helps hold results from a microcurrent session for much longer. Although, it is reported that the first treatment lasts for approx. 72 hours, frequent use means it will last longer and longer – with some fans saying it lasts a month with daily use.
Is the Foreo Bear worth it?
Although the Foreo Bear comes with a price tag, it's important to remember in a beauty clinic you would need to have repeat facials, which can become costly, quickly. With the Foreo Bear, you can continue forever with a one-off price – and in the comfort of your own home. It is an investment beauty device but it's one you can keep using time and time again.
