A furious parent has taken to social media to urge Typo to stop selling a festive ornament that could end up ruining Christmas for children.
The unnamed man was shocked during a recent shopping trip when his child picked up an elf decoration – which was holding a sign that reads: "Santa's not real."
The disappointed dad explained that everything went horribly wrong after his little one spotted the ornament, as they began questioning Santa's existence.
His Facebook post read: "Hey mums and dads, just a warning as I was caught out today.
"The store Typo/cotton on have horrible Christmas ornaments for sale that my child was able to read and ask me ‘is Santa real?'"
"I tried to complain but didn’t get anywhere. I’d like to encourage as many people as possible to email/call/live chat and complain and get these things taken off the shelves."
He wasn't the only one unimpressed with the ornament as according to kidspot.com.au, other parents shared an image of it online and slated it.
One mum accused Typo of trying to steal the innocence from children.
"I’m offended by Santa's not real – what if kids read it? That is stealing their innocence," she vented.
Another parent commented: "Not just the shops, either. What if you went to a friend's house and they had one hanging on their tree?
"I am the only person who has the right to take the fun out of Christmas for my kids, nobody else."
But it's not just the elf decoration that caused anger amongst customers.
Also included in Typo's festive range is an ornament of a cat in a Santa hat licking its bottom, and Father Christmas pulling down his pants.
Another customer fumed: "If my kids saw the 'Santa's not real' ornament I'd be very upset. The cat licking its bottom is just crass. Seriously gross."
Despite the backlash, some customers found the baubles amusing and didn't have a problem with them.
"Very fun product. There were plenty of laughs from the family," one person commented.
A second person added: "If you're looking for quality Christmas ornaments, head to Typo!
"Bright, whimsical, fun – AND made from solid resin that will last – your Christmas tree will look fabulous!"
Daily Star Online has contacted a representative of Typo for comment and are awaiting a response at the time of publication.
