A woman who is pregnant with her best friend's uncle says it was "love at first sight" despite their 16-year age gap.
Jami Bouwer, 27, was just 12 years old when she met future partner Nolte Lourens, 43, while visiting her pal Nikita back in 2007.
She became infatuated with older lads but it wasn't until December 2020 that their paths crossed and their fate was sealed.
The couple, from South Africa, went on a vineyard date, arranged by Nikita, and they have been inseparable since.
Now they have been together for seven months and are expecting their first child next month.
The unemployed mum-to-be said: "I laid eyes on him for the very first time in 2007, I was only 12 years old and he was about 27.
"Sounds crazy, obviously no moves were made, but that is the first time I met him."
'Our triplets were born 7 years apart – they look identical and are inseparable'
She added: "I became friends with his niece around that time and since then I've always had a crush on her cute uncle.
"For me, it definitely was love at first sight, since the first day I laid eyes on him I just knew he was going to be the one.
"I made the first move in 2017, just before I left South Africa to go to the US for two years, by saying one day I am going to marry him.
"I was 23 at the time and he thought it was a joke and laughed, and that was that.
"Little did he know how serious I was and I just knew that one day it was going to happen. He was also in a relationship at that time."
Mum and daughter 'with 13 year age gap' constantly mistaken for sisters
Jami returned to her hometown in 2019, at which Nolte, who works as a beekeeper, had been checking out her social media pages.
But their age gap meant that he was too apprehensive about getting into contact first.
Then at the start of last year, Nolte finally got into contact with Jami and the couple spent months chatting on WhatApp.
One day he walked into the bar where Jami worked and gave her a big hug.
It was the next day when Jami's pal Nikita arranged a wine tasting date for the two.
And things moved quite quickly from then as the couple shared their first kiss after the date.
Now Jami and Nolte have been an item for seven months now and they're expecting their first baby in September.
She added: "We have a connection like no other. We understand each other, we are honest with each other and the sex is amazing."
The pair have been open about their relationship, despite Nolte's parents being shocked that he was their granddaughter's best pal.
But either way, everyone knew Jami had a huge crush on her best mate's uncle.

Jami continued: "When things got serious, some people were surprised and others not, but we've been open about it since day one.
"My parents were a bit shocked because they only found out on Facebook once we made it public.
"They accepted it pretty easy though as they have known him for years and loved him as a person.
"Nikita was the most excited. She was rooting for us since the beginning.
"She also is the one that pushed and helped us to get together."
Before she began dating Nolte, she was in a "secret" relationship with a man 30 years her senior, who sadly passed away.
Meanwhile Nolte was married for five years while in his twenties, before getting divorced six years ago.
Jami revealed exactly what makes the age gap relationship work so well.
She explained: "Nolte knows what he wants and is done with the 'messing around' stage in his life.
"He is more committed when it comes to love and starting a family. We are so excited to be having a baby together."

Nolte is currently working on a farm in North Dakota, US, but will be back with his partner for the birth of their child next month.
Now the lovebirds are giving advice to other couples who are in age gap relationships.
Jami said: "Don't let anyone tell you what's right or what's wrong when it comes to love and age.
"Never focus on age, it's literally just a number. If it feels right, then it is right. Focus on yourself – it's your life and you have to live it.
"Love who you want to love and you will live a happy life."
