Margaret Atwood and Bernardine Evaristo named joint winners of Booker prize

Canadian poet and novelist Margaret Atwood and British-born Anglo-Nigerian author Bernardine Evaristo have been named joint winners of the the 2019 Booker Prize.

Atwood won for her novel The Testaments, a follow up to her 1985 dystopian novel The Handmaid's Tale.

While Evaristo won for her book Girl, Woman, Other which follows the lives of 12 different women.
