Meghan Markle's Relatives Are Still Cashing in on Her Fame

Meghan Markle’s family came into the spotlight in the lead up to her wedding to Prince Harry. Their dysfunction was on full display, and in the days and weeks before Markle’s lavish wedding ceremony, the lid was blown off of what was obviously years of resentment. That hasn’t stopped the family of the duchess from cashing in on her fame when they can. Markle’s nephew is apparently making the most of the situation with marijuana strains named after the duchess and, now, her royal baby.

Meghan Markle’s nephew is offering a marijuana strain namedafter baby Archie

Markle’s 27-year-old nephew is cashing in big on her famous name. Tyler Dooley, who is the son of Meghan’s half-brother, fancies himself an entrepreneur. He began a cannabis farm in Oregon when marijuana was legalized.

When Markle and Prince Harry announced their engagement, Dooleycashed in on the media frenzy by naming a strain of his product “Markle Sparkle.”It allegedly sold out quickly. Now, Dooley is bringing to market a secondstrain named after Markle’s royal family. The newest offering from Dooley iscalled “Archie Sparkle.”

PageSix notes that while marijuana is legal in several states, it remainsillegal in the United Kingdom. Dooley has yet to meet his cousin, babyArchie, and from the sounds of it, he won’t be meeting him anytime soon. That isn’t stopping him from naming one of his products after him, in any case.

Who is Tyler Dooley?

Dooley is Markle’s nephew. The 27-year-old entrepreneur has an expansive marijuana growing operation in Oregon. According to Fox News, Dooley has plans to take his farm from 1,000 acres to over 2,000 acres in the next year. He also claims he has expected revenue of around $200 million.

While Dooley insists his farm is doing well, there are aplethora of Oregon cannabis farmers who have been forced to fold over the last fewyears. In fact, the oversaturated market has led to tons of cannabis plantsbeing destroyed because there simply wasn’t enough demand in the state, according to TheDaily Beast.

Dooley alleges that his farm is doing well partly because ofhis family’s name. Markle’s name recognition has allegedly led to a run on thefarmer’s strains, and he anticipates his newest offering, named after the royalbaby, will do just as well, if not better than his previous product that cashedin on Markle’s famed wedding to PrinceHarry.

Is Meghan Markle still estranged from her family?

Anyone who has followed royal news over the last few years knows that Markle is mostly estranged from the paternal side of her family. Markle’s father, Thomas Markle was cast in a negative light when it was revealed he had paid photographers to take snapshots of him in the leadup to the royal wedding.

Markle’s half-siblings have been outspoken about their distaste for the duchess. Samantha Grant, Markle’s half-sister from her father’s first marriage, has admitted to not seeing the duchess since 2008. She, however, has insisted she’ll be writing a tell-all book. Her half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr. has also been outspoken about his dissatisfaction with the duchess. He alleges his distaste began when his family was locked out of the royal wedding.
