A mum was left gobsmacked over a £1 fidget toy for kids which had an uncanny resemblance to a sex toy.
The item, which the single mum purchased from Poundland, left social media users howling with laughter as it 'resembled anal beads'.
Charlotte Heywood lives in Bolton with her children, Isabelle, 11 Oscar, nine and Daisy, eight.
The 33-year-old says her children became obsessed with fidget toys after the toys went viral on TikTok and so decided to buy one for them to play with.
She bought the toy from her local Poundland store on 16 February but had quite the shock after returning home.
She opened the package and soon discovered that it looked very much like a sex toy.
Charlotte said: "It was in plastic packaging when I bought it so from the outside, it just looked like a squishy pea pod.
"The kids just picked it up as a squishy surprise bag.
"It certainly wasn't the shape or design I imagined it would be when the kids opened it and did wonder if it was what it said on the packaging."
The mum shared photos of the fidget toy on Facebook, leaving social media users in stitches over the hilarious resemblance.
"Poundland anal beads!," one person declared.
"Parents are so good at buying toys for their kids when really it's for them," another person added.
Others suggested Poundland might be onto something with their fidget toy collection.
"Something for the kids… and the mums too," another person wrote.
"We bought two at Christmas for stocking fillers we were in hysterics when the kids pulled them out….still not convinced we didn't buy or kids sex toys for gifts!" another added. [sic].
Thankfully, Charlotte was able to laugh off the fidget fiasco.
She said: "I found it highly amusing, as did my friends.
"It was the laugh I needed at the moment and it made my day."
The mum says her children are thankfully oblivious to the toy's unusual choice of design and are still happily playing with it.
Charlotte added: "They are are totally clueless as to what all the fuss is about."
