Peru Two drug mule Michaella McCollum revealed rare details about the father of her children – whose identity she has never disclosed – as she took part in a candid Q&A session with fans.
The former jailbird, of Northern Ireland, welcomed twin sons Rafael and Rio in May but has never revealed the name of their father.
In Instagram Stories shared over the weekend, the mother-of-two revealed a handful of hints about the man, who she claims is largely absent from their sons’ lives.

Writing in response to fan questions, McCollum, 25, revealed their father is neither Irish nor Spanish – an assumption some had made because of her sons’ names.
She also revealed her son Rafael is named after tennis ace Nadal, writing: ‘When Rafael Nadal first came on the scene in tennis I fell in love with the name and said, “that’s what I will call my boy when the day comes”.’

Asked whether she was single, she replied: ‘absolutely’ but said in response to a separate question that it is ‘hard to find someone she wants to mingle with’.
McCollum, who shot to notoriety as one half of the Peru Two in 2013, opened up about her experience as a single mother, admitting it can be ‘lonely at times’.

Comforting a woman in the same position asking for advice, she wrote: ‘Just don’t stress or worry about it, I think that makes it worse…
‘He will be the one missing out. Obviously it is not easy and lonely at times but I am totally capable and happy doing it alone, I’m sure you will be too.’
The former drug mule also revealed her tell-all memoir will be released in ‘Spring 2019’.

On confirming her pregnancy earlier this year, her agent said: ‘Michaella is looking forward to her journey into motherhood.
‘Couple this with the excitement of her book release and 2018 is set to be an amazing year for Michaella.’
She went on to share a number of photos documenting her pregnancy and frequently updates followers with pictures of her sons.
McCollum made headlines in 2013 when she was arrested in Peru alongside Melissa Reid.
The pair had travelled to the country from Ibiza, where they had been employed by a drug-dealing gang to smuggle cocaine £1.5million worth of cocaine across the world.

They were caught arriving at Lima airport and sentenced to six years and eight months inside a grim jail in the Peruvian capital.
However, they were released after serving three years, with McCollum returning to Northern Ireland in June 2016.
Since her release from prison, McCollum has become something of a public figure, attending events and escaping the chilly British weather on a string of sun-kissed holidays last summer.
She was reportedly offered a £250,000 book deal for her memoir.
By contrast her former accomplice Reid landed a charity job at Citizens Advice after she was released from jail in South America in June 2016.
