Schoolgirl, 18, dies after being hit by a car outside school

An 18-year-old died when she was hit by a car outside her school, police have confirmed.

Millie Taylor-Noonan died after she was involved in the collision with a black Mercedes C Class earlier this week, Lincolnshire Live reported.

The crash happened on Main Road, Welbourn on Tuesday, December 4, at 3.30pm.

It is the second tragedy outside a school in the Sleaford area within 24 hours.

Teenager Millie – who was a student at Sir William Robertson Academy near Sleaford in Lincolnshire – died two days after the incident occurred. 

She was airlifted to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham immediately after the crash.

But today police revealed that she died from her injuries.

Her family have now paid tribute to the teenager from Sudbrook – describing her as a ‘beautiful young lady’.

A statement said: "Millie was a happy, kind, caring and beautiful young lady.

“Millie was really passionate about the environment. For her 18th birthday, she did not want presents but asked for people to donate to the Clean Oceans campaign.

“She was also a member of the Centre for Alternative Technology, in Wales, and completed the Walk For Wildlife, with Chris Packham.

“Millie had also made the choice that at the end of her life her organs should be donated to help others.

“She was fantastic at school: all her teachers loved her and she worked hard. She was going to go to university to study the subjects that she was passionate about.

“She was loved by everyone, and was beautiful inside and out.

“We will miss you, Millie – your family and your loving boyfriend.”

Other people have also left tributes on Lincolnshire Police’s Facebook page.

Sarah Bawcombe wrote: "Thinking of her family and friends at this devastating time."

Jessica Riach added: "So sad. Rest in peace, beautiful."

And Belinda Stephenson said: "This is so sad. RIP angel."

The street where the accident happened was closed between Pottergate Lane, Navenby and Leadenham for several hours at the time.

Eliza Bill, from Threekingham , 16, died after she was hit by a lorry on London Road, Osbournby.

The crash happened at 4.43pm on Monday, December 3.

Her family paid tribute to her in a statement issued by the police.

They said: “Eliza was the most beautiful soul. She touched the hearts of all who knew her with kindness and caring.

“She leaves us with broken hearts that will never mend.

“We will love you always, our princess. Your mum, dad and sister.”
