Always wanted to know how your salary stacks up next to other professions?
Well, new research from Indeed has shed light on the UK’s highest paying jobs.
It found that data modelling is top, with a dreamy average salary of £145,000.
Tax partners (who are paid around £127,000) placed second, followed by security project managers on £125,000.
Indeed analysed hundreds of thousands of job listings to compile a table of the roles which make the most money right now.
It found that more than a third of the highest-paying jobs are found in the healthcare sector, with neurosurgeons, neonatologists, paediatric consultants earning almost six figure salaries. However, it’s worth pointing out the pay disparity in this sector, as the average salary for an NHS nurse, for example, is around £33,000.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, finance, sales and technology roles also placed within the top ten with user experience researcher scooping fifth place (with a salary of £118,261) and chief financial officer taking sixth position at £115,467.
Commenting on the highest-paid job, Indeed’s Bill Richards said: ‘Data modeller is a role few people outside the tech and business worlds will have heard of. But its low profile may partly explain why it is so well paid; candidates with these specialist skills are rare and employers are fighting hard to win their attention – by offering high salaries.’
But Bill explains that a good salary is just one thing that candidates look for in new jobs.
He added: ‘While money talks, offering a big salary is only one tactic, and the most strategic employers will design jobs around these valuable people’s work-life priorities.’
