Coronation Street's Jude Riordan has had everyone giggling at the 2021 National Television Awards, after he scooped Best Newcomer and made history as its youngest ever winner.

The northern actor, 10, plays Sam Blakeman on the ITV soap, and beat several other talented nominees for the award tonight at London's O2 Arena.

Taking to the stage in his adorable tuxedo, Jude thanked his fans, Corrie cast and crew, and his family during his acceptance speech, but a slight issue with the microphone's height meant Jude needed a helping hand.

Presenter Joel Dommett was luckily on-hand to give the child star a much-needed height boost, and lifted Jude up so he could reach the mic.

So as Jude becomes the youngest ever winner of an NTA, it has everyone wondering what else do we know about the hilarious Corrie star?

Here's all you need to know about Jude Riordan…

Who is Jude Riordan and how old is he?

Jude Riordan is ten years old and hails from St Helens, Merseyside.

The talented young actor currently plays Sam Blakeman on Coronation Street, where he plays Nick Tilsley and Natasha Blakeman's son.

Jude made his Corrie debut back in October 2020, being introduced as the secret son of his parents, and he's had an incredibly turbulent storyline on the soap.

Sam has been at the centre of a number of storylines during his time in Weatherfield so far, and was even kidnapped by a thug working for Harvey Gaskell back in May 2021.

Sam was was locked in the back of a van, but was eventually released, and later got revenge on his kidnapper a couple of weeks later.

An episode showed Jude's character he knocking out his kidnapper in the street, which prevented him from shooting Gary Windass dead.

Has Jude Riordan been on any other TV shows?

Coronation Street isn't Jude's first acting rodeo – he's actually starred in a lot of other TV shows.

The kid actor made his first appeared on our screens in the Channel 4 documentary The Secret Life of Five-Year-Olds.

Jude was (unsurprisingly) aged five at the time, and impressed TV bosses back in 2017 with his outgoing personality on the show.

The youngster also bagged the role of Tyler in Sky One comedy drama Brassic – and his on-screen mum Erin is played by Michelle Keegan, who also starred in Coronation Street.

What has Jude said about his NTA win?

Jude's incredible win at the 2021 National Television Awards means he has beaten the record for the youngest ever NTA winner.

This position was previously held by fellow Corrie actor Sam Aston, who won the Best Newcomer award for his role as Chesney in 2004, aged 11.

The cheeky actor couldn't reach the microphone on the stage at the O2, but gave an adorable speech once Joel Dommett gave him a helping hand.

"Oh my word, oh my word, this is amazing", Jude began.

"I would like to say thank you to all my fans who voted for me, my Corrie cast and crew for helping me, and my family for supporting me."

The adorable northern actor was smiling from ear to ear as he concluded: "And yeah, that's mainly it! Thank you guys!"

Holding up his NTA, he gave two thumbs up to the crowd as Joel and the Love Islanders smiled behind.

Twitter went wild for Jude's speech, with one writing:"Aw, little @JudeRiordan winning a National Television Award and not reaching the microphone was such a sweet moment.

"He’s brilliant in #Corrie. Congrats Jude! #NTAs."
