A woman has revealed the huge last supper she ate before she had 80% of her stomach removed in a gastric sleeve operation.
Lauren Linford, from Hertfordshire, did not always struggle with her weight; she was happy as a size 10/12 for the majority of her teen years.
At the age of 17, the makeup artist found herself in her relationship and started to put on the pounds – but soon lost it again once she broke up with her partner at the time.
Seven years ago, Lauren started to have issues with her stomach and was eventually diagnosed with IBS (irritable bowel syndrome).
Gradually, the 30-year-old started to gain weight over seven years whilst her IBS symptoms got worse.
Despite her best efforts, she had enough of attempting diets, being in pain and frequently using the toilet because of the condition.
The professional beautician decided to book a trip to Turkey and get a gastric sleeve operation to aid her with her weight loss – which has now left her with a “child size” stomach.
But, before Lauren committed to the life changing op, she went all out and ordered a “fat b***h dinner” for one last hurrah.
She happily tucked into two large Domino's pizzas with an array of sides with her friend, which she posted to TikTok and where it quickly racked up 2.1 million views.
In an exclusive interview with the Daily Star, Lauren has revealed how she enjoyed her final “fat b***h dinner” and how her gastric sleeve has already changed her life in a matter of months.
She explained: “For nearly seven years now I have been struggling with IBS which was causing me a lot of weight gain.
“Within the last year it got incredibly worse to the point where I was unable to eat three balanced meals a day as I would be in pain or on the toilet constantly.
“I would starve myself all day to prevent myself from this happening whilst I had clients to attend to all day.
"I would then be so hungry in the evening I would have one big meal which I would then be in discomfort and on the toilet all evening.
“This didn’t help my weight at all having a diet like this daily.
"I was gaining more and more weight making me unhealthy, depressed and tired and I didn’t enjoy eating food anymore.
“I wanted to change my life.”
“So after 6 months of research I found that taking the weight loss surgery route is what will help me straight away and in the long run.”
Having 80% of your stomach removed comes with great sacrifice – Lauren will no longer be able to tuck into a “fat b***h dinner” again.
She shared: “I had that meal because I am currently very restricted on what I can eat and how much I can eat.
“I wanted to treat myself one last time and pig out on a takeaway before I had this surgery as I won’t be able to have a meal like that ever again.
“But I will be able to eat a takeaway again but not until I am at least a year out of weight loss surgery.
“I had 80% of my stomach removed so my stomach is now so small and is unable to stretch like my old stomach could.
“Also any food high in fat or sugars would make me feel really poorly after."
The TikToker now has a stomach which is the size of a small child, so it will not be able to accommodate to such large portions.
She continued: “My stomach is the size of a small child’s now so I find I get hungry more often as I’m eating so little.
“So I eat more frequently throughout the day but my portions are very small!
“I always have my meals served on a side plate and at the moment I only manage 3/4 of my potions.
“I eat very healthy now but my foods have to be high in protein hitting a goal of 80g of protein or more a day and have to be very low in fat or sugars as anything too high in fat or sugar can make me feel sick or be sick causing something called ‘dumping syndrome’.”
“This is caused by eating anything too high in fat or sugar or eating too fast which would then cause me to either be sick or have diarrhoea."
Although Lauren decided to “treat” herself one last time, the special meal has not been missed.
The self-employed makeup artist is now enjoying eating what is healthy for her.
She admitted: “I don’t miss it at all.
“I’m really enjoying eating healthy and being able to eat normally throughout the day without being in discomfort or needing the toilet.”
“I always have my meals served on a side plate and at the moment I only manage 3/4 of my potions.”
Since her operation nine weeks ago, Lauren is overjoyed with how much the gastric sleeve has made her feel physically – and mentally.
She expressed: “I’m now nine weeks post op and I have lost 2 stone 8lbs and the results I have already got are crazy! I’m so happy!
“I have dropped three dress sizes and my belly is no longer appearing bloated/pregnant!
“This surgery has been life changing for me and I feel like I have gained my confidence back and I would definitely advise this surgery to anyone who was struggling with weight loss like me.”
