  • HARRY KANE has been backed to break Wayne Rooney's record as England's top goal-scorer – one one condition.

Kane added his 26th goal against Kosovo earlier tonight in just his 41st international appearance to put him 13th on the all-time list.

The Spurs striker even missed a penalty to make it 27 but Ian Wright, a former England striker himself, reckons only injury can stop Kane breaking Rooney's record of 53.

Wright told ITV: “Without a doubt, if he stays fit, if he produces like we’ve seen him produce, and the likes of Raheem Sterling continue to create, he will definitely beat that record.

  • TROY PARROTT needs no introduction to most Tottenham fans and he has bolstered his reputation further with two fine goals in international duty.

Spurs have no senior replacement for Harry Kane except for Heung-Min Son and Parrott is being talked up as one for the future who might be called upon a little sooner should the England captain pick up a knock.

And he will be chock full of confidence after scoring twice for the Ireland U21s tonight against Sweden.

The first saw him beat the keeper from a tight angle before he was slipped in one-on-one and found a cool chip to double his tally and give his side a 3-1 lead.

  • SPURS might be struggling in ninth in the Premier League but ex-Tottenham player Graham Roberts seems more than confident about their chances this season.

Mauricio Pochettino's men have only won once in the Premier League this season – although they did also earn a draw away from home at champions Man City.

However, Roberts – who played six times for England as well as 209 times for Spurs – reckons Dele Alli is going to be the man to light up the team's season.

  • TOTTENHAM fans will get the chance to see one of their transfer targets in action against England tonight if reports from Turkey are to believed.

Mauricio Pochettino flogged Fernando Llorente and Vincent Janssen in the summer, but failed to sign a replacement.

This left the Argentine boss with just 17-year-old Troy Parrott as the only natural striker to serve as Kane's deputy this season.

But according to Turkish outlet Sabah, the North London club have now been tracking Kosovo striker Vedat Muriqi, with scouts watching on as the Fenerbahce star netted during his country's 2-1 win over the Czech Republic last weekend.

Kosovan media regularly compare him to Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Fenerbahce are said to be keen to hang onto him until at least the end of the season.

  • TOTTENHAM will battle against Paris Saint-Germain for Paulo Dybala's signature in January, according to reports.

Spurs were heavily linked to the 25-year-old during the summer transfer window, but failed to agree a deal with Juventus.

According to Tuttosport, cited by Football Italia, Mauricio Pochettino will reignite his interest in Dybala in January.

But the source suggests PSG will also continue their pursuit for the 24-cap Argentina international after failing to sign him this summer.
