ESPN gave Tom Rinaldi a proper sendoff.
The longtime ESPN reporter who is leaving for Fox Sports is working his final “College GameDay” on Friday ahead of the College Football Playoff semifinals, and the crew acknowledged Rinaldi’s contributions in his last appearance for the network.
Rinaldi was most known for his poignant features on “GameDay” and working the sidelines for the national championship game. He also covered tennis and golf.
Rinaldi, who joined ESPN in 2002, will be featured on Fox Sports’ major events, including the Super Bowl.
“It is a once in a lifetime to have the opportunity to contribute, in whatever ways, to the Super Bowl, to the World Cup to the World Series, those are once in a lifetime opportunities, and they are properties that only Fox has,” Rinaldi recently told The Post’s Andrew Marchand. “It really is for the next.”
