Everton next manager odds: Bookies claim Lampard, Ferguson & Rooney trail Hjulmand for Toffees job if Benitez is sacked

And bookmakers Betfair believe that Denmark boss Kasper Hjulmand is favourite to take the reins at Goodison Park.

The pressure is growing on Benitez after a disastrous spell on Merseyside.

The Toffees are winless in their last SEVEN Premier League matches and have failed to score since November 1.

Everton have taken just two points from the last 21 on offer and slipped to 14th-position after Sunday's 1-0 defeat to Brentford.

Benitez is now favourite with several bookmakers to be the next top-flight manager to leave his position.

Furthermore, the 61-year-old has the added stress of the Merseyside derby on Wednesday night, followed by difficult clashes with Arsenal, Chelsea and Leicester.

But he's viewing it as a chance put things right, even without the services of long-term absentee Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

He said: "I think it’s a little bit about everything. Now, we are frustrated. As a manager you want to win and do well.

"It's a challenge for me, and I can understand the frustration from fans. It’s been some years we are not improving."

If Everton DO opt to pull the trigger and relieve Benitez of his duties – there are several high-profile names Betfair are tipping for the role.

Denmark's Hjulmand is the frontrunner at odds of 3/1.

Many were impressed by the Danes at the 2020 European Championships after they overcame Wales and the Czech Republic before losing to England in the final four.

Axed Spurs boss Nuno Espirito Santo is second-favourite at 9/2 with Frank Lampard further behind at 6/1.

Toffees legend Duncan Ferguson is offered at 15/2 with Brighton's Graham Potter a 9/1 chance.
