France 2-0 Wales LIVE SCORE: Mbappe and Griezmann put French in charge as Benzema penalty SAVED and Williams sent off

WALES face the daunting task of taking on France with ten men after Neco Williams was harshly sent off for a handball.

And that task has been made even harder by goals from Kylian Mbappe and Antoine Griezmann.

However Danny Ward will have done his chances of obtaining the number one jersey for Euro 2020 no harm after pulling off a spectacular save from Karim Benzema's penalty, following Williams' handball.

Benzema, playing for France for the first time since 2015, pulled his penalty low to the left, but the Leicester goalkeeper was equal to it.

    63. An early indication for Davies as to the size of the task Wales are facing.

The defender loses his man at a corner but fortunately wins a free-kick in his tussle with Kimpembe.

    61. Those substitutions en masse look to have brought a change in set-up from the visitors.

It now appears a back four with James playing off the physical presence of Moore up top.

    60. A quadruple change for the Welsh.

Kieffer Moore, Dylan Levitt, Aaron Ramsey and Ben Davies are all introduced the action as Garetth Bale, Harry Wilson, Joe Allen and Chris Mepham sit the last half hour out.

    56. Pass. Pass. Pass. Pass. Pass. Pass. Pass. Pass. Pass. Pass.

Pretty as it is, it's not that interesting to watch. At least, that's the view of Pogba, who picks play up 25 yards out and thumps a shot straight at Ward.

    53. A rare foray forward from Wales.

Connor Roberts starts a move, and keeps on going with the hope of getting on the end of Wilson's pass into the box.

In the end, it requires a sliding challenge from Kimpembe to put the ball behind for a corner.

    51. From friendly to training game. France are toying with their opponents some more with even young debutant Kounde getting on the act with a driving run down the right.

    48. Pick that out! A slick France move is finished sensationally by Antoine Griezmann!

Paul Pogba's pass is flicked around the corner by Kylian Mbappe, and into the path of Griezmann.

The Barcelona forward has a yard of space to work with and does so brilliantly, moving the ball on to his left foot and curling an effort into the top corner from 20 yards.

It's a real uphill task for the ten men of Wales now.

    46. The world champions make two changes as play resumes in Nice. The first is like-for like as Lucas Digne replaces Lucas Hernandez at left-back.

The second will see a first international cap for 22-year-old Sevilla defender Jules Kounde. He's on for Benjamin Pavard.

The world champions lead at the break courtesy of Kylian Mbappe's 17th goal for his county. France have dominated and deserve their lead, but then again, Wales deserve to be playing with 11 men. Rob Page's team are a man light after Neco Williams was dismissed for deliberate handball, a decision made following a VAR review that led to Danny Ward saving Karim Benzema's penalty.

    45. A free-kick just inside the France half offers the Welsh an oppotunity to pose a question of their opponents with just a minute of the first half remaining.

Wilson sends the set-piece deep, but Rabiot is first to the delivery, and quickly moves play on.

    37. It's hardly surprising but a game that France were already dominating in terms of possession has become even more one-sided since the red card.

Wales had looked pretty decent before that scandalous decision, but now Rob Page has some big decisions to make. His whole approach to this warm-up game has been thrown out of the window.

    35. Danny Ward is finally beaten but it's not for a lack of excellence on his part.

The Wales goalkeeper does brilliantly to block Paul Pogba's deflected shot with his foot, but Kylian Mbappe's reactions are lightning quick.

The PSG forward is first to the rebound ahead of Chris Mepham, and pokes the loose ball back past Ward and into the net.

I'm surprised that hasn't led to a red card and a penalty.

    30. Neco Williams will serve a suspension for that nonsense decision, but it won't count for the Euros. The Liverpool man will be unavailable for the next friendly game.

    27. Let's start with the good…

…Danny Ward has just pulled off a superb one-handed stop, diving low to his right, to save Karim Benzema's penalty and keep the striker from scoring on his return to the international scene.

The bad? The decision that led to the spotkick being awarded after a long VAR review. Neco Williams was a yard away from Benzema when the Real Madrid struck the ball, and while the Welshman's arms were up, it was impossible for him to get out of the way.

The red card for deliberate handball that followed? Absolutely ridiculous. The officials have really put the FFS in friendly.
