'Is he retiring? Good' – Steven Gerrard's brutal put-down of ref Jon Moss after performance against Liverpool

STEVEN GERRARD risked an FA rap despite picking his words carefully to express his disappointment at referee Jonathan Moss.

The veteran official incensed Aston Villa fans with several controversial calls as Jurgen Klopp's side edged a 2-1 win in Tuesday's Prem clash.

Villa fans were left ironically cheering decisions that went in their favour and were not afraid to hide their anger towards Moss.

Gerrard meanwhile had to hold himself back when asked what he thought of Moss's performance.

The Liverpool legend refrained from openly criticising Moss, but replied: "No comment."

He then added: "I just hope it's looked at, that's all I'll say. I just hope it's looked at.
