    SMITH SPEAKS

Aston Villa boss Dean Smith was impressed with what he saw this evening, speaking after the game. he said:“We have seen Ross Barkley do that enough times for Everton and Chelsea so we are pleased he did it for us today.

“It was touch-and-go whether he started today, he had a knock to the knee, but it was a great goal and a real battling performance by the whole team.

“I thought they started better than us to be honest. I thought they were playing through us a little too easily but saying that I thought we defended well in our box and that's another clean sheet. It was two good teams.

“We are just looking at the next game. We will savour what we are doing at the moment and look forward to the Leeds game.”

    WHO'D HAVE THOUGHT IT?

Villa are the only side who can boast a perfect start to the season- they're currently sitting pretty at the top end of the table with a game in hand.

Mad to think that this side escaped relegation last season!

    FIRING THEM UP THE TABLE

Thanks to rocket shot from Barkley, there are still no goalless draws in the Premier League this season.

Four wins from four fires Villa to second in the table, with a game in hand.

    93. It doesn't look as though Leicester will stop them now! If it stays like this, Villa will have broken a 90 year record- having won their first four games of the season.

    90. There's four added minutes at the King Power. Can Leicester salvage a point?

    90. Villa look as though they'll maintain their perfect start to the season and it's all thanks to Ross Barkley!

Villa's new midfield signing is given far too much space in the central area, 25 yards out.

Leicester seem to be backing off him, hoping he'll pick out a pass. Instead he drives forward, pushes the ball to his right foot and fires it low into the goal – what an excellent strike!

    89. Grealish again breaks through the Leicester defence and slips the ball to McGinn.

McGinn chips it into the box to meet Traore's head as he gets up and above any other players around him.

But Traore's header is just too soft, he nods it low but Schmeichel's there to greet it.

    87. Grealish is somewhat of a magician with his feet! Despite a sea of blue shirts ahead of him, in the box, he manages to dance between them before switching the ball to Watkins.

Leicester have doubled up on him this evening, but he's still managed to find space.

85.Traore has his first impact since coming on.

He breaks into the box from the right and instead of slipping the ball through to an overlapping Grealish, he pushes it to his left and tries to chip the ball to the six yard box.

But, it's slightly too hard and catches a Leicester head as it flies out. Corner to Villa.

    84. Maddison has certainly injected a bit of energy into Leicester since his introduction and the Foxes have had a decent spell of possession.

But their crosses and passes are letting them down, they're just too weak and inaccurate.

    83. Will we see a late goal here? Certainly hope so!

    82. Barnes breaks into the box on the left, but his shot is brilliantly blocked by Cash.

Barnes scoops up the deflection and pokes it through to Tielemans, but it's played around the box too slowly and comes to nothing.

    80. Substitution for Villa, their first of the night.

Traore replaces Trezeguet, who looked to be edging ever closer to his second yellow.

    78. Barnes pushes the ball to his right and left foot before having a pop from 20 yards out, but it flies way over the bar.

    78. Substitution; Mendy is replaced by Choudhury.

    76. Grealish is on a solo mission to score!

He leads the Villa counter and it's three Villa players on two of Leicester's.

Grealish breaks into the box and holds onto the ball despite being surrounded by two Leicester players in the box, he's forced to the far right corner.

The Villa captain squares it to the centre of the box, but there's no one there to get on the end of it and it's too tight an angle to shoot.

    74. Rather than any decent action, it feels as though both teams are just hacking at one another to stop any breaks.

    73. Evans sticks out his left leg to block Mendy's run and receives a yellow- that's the seventh booking of the evening.
