Arsenal vs Nottingham Forest

Fresh from their Community Shield success, Arsenal kick-start their Premier League campaign against Nottingham Forest at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners look rock-solid at the back against Pep Guardiola's treble-winners, and enjoyed themselves at home last season – winning 14 of their 19 league clashes.

  • A £5 free bet on Arsenal to win 4-0 would return £55

Chelsea vs Liverpool

Liverpool are set for a blockbuster campaign. The Reds have an embarrassment of riches in attacking areas and that's shown in pre-season with Jurgen Klopp's side scoring a whopping 15 goals in four matches.

Chelsea, meanwhile, are still adjusting to life under new manager Mauricio Pochettino after a disastrous 2022-23 season, where they finished 12th!

  • A £5 free bet on Liverpool to win 3-1 would return £44.50

Arsenal vs Nottingham Forest preview

If the Community Shield is anything to go by, Arsenal mean business this season.

Mikel Arteta has spent £208million on new recruits in Kai Havertz, Jurrien Timber and Declan Rice this summer, and all three will slot straight in to strengthen the starting XI.

The Gunners have mixed memories of this contest having won the home clash 5-0 before losing 1-0 in the reverse fixture, which confirmed Manchester City as champions.

Arsenal did most of their damage on home turf last season, scoring a colossal 53 goals in 19 matches – that's an average of 2.7 goals per game.

That's in complete contrast to Nottingham Forest, who won once away all season, scoring 11 times and conceding a league-high 44 goals.

Arsenal are odds-on at 2/9 to collect maximum points in their opening contest of the campaign, and precious few would back against them getting their season off to a flyer.

Chelsea vs Liverpool preview

Jurgen Klopp always spoke of his fondness for heavy metal football, and that's exactly what he's going to get in the upcoming campaign.

Liverpool have lost Jordan Henderson and Fabinho from their midfield ranks, while only attack-minded Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister have arrived to bolster their already stacked forward line.

The Reds look to have adopted the 'we'll score more than you philosophy' after 4-2, 4-4, 4-0 and 4-3 scoreline in their pre-season outings – so goals are pretty-much assured on Sunday.

As for Chelsea, it seems too early to tell what kind of impact Mauricio Pochettino will have at Stamford Bridge.

Early signs look positive with a happy squad and some solid pre-season form, but it remains a very new-look squad that may require more time to gel together.

The Blues are also a top-heavy side with an attacking philosophy, so neutrals could be in for a high-scoring spectacle this weekend.
