A woman who has accused Brazilian soccer star Neymar of rape attacked him in a Paris hotel room, video purportedly shows.
A 45-second clip circulating on social media and WhatsApp groups in Brazil appears to show the Paris Saint-German striker defending himself from his accuser one day after the alleged rape on May 15.
“No, no, no, no, no,” Neymar said repeatedly as the woman climbed atop him on a bed before a slapping sound is heard on the footage.
The woman then hopped off Neymar and stood at the foot of the bed before hitting him twice and throwing an object at him, according to the video, which appears to have been secretly recorded.
“You know why I’m going to hit you? Do you know why?” the woman said, according to one translation. “Because you assaulted me yesterday and you left me here alone.”
Just moments earlier, Neymar was relaxing on the bed with the woman straddling him as The Police’s “Every Breath You Take” blared in the background.
The footage emerged late Wednesday as Neymar’s accuser made her first public comments on the allegations, reaffirming her account that she agreed to have sex with the 27-year-old Brazilian after exchanging messages with him on Instagram. She then met him in a suite at Sofitel Paris Arc du Triomphe, where he “turned aggressive” after being told they couldn’t have sex without a condom, according to a police report.
“I was the victim of rape,” the woman who described herself as a model and interior design student told Brazilian station SBT.
Asked if she was raped or the victim of aggression, she replied: “Aggression together with rape.”
The woman said she now wants justice after being left traumatized by the attack.
Neymar, meanwhile, has denied any wrongdoing and said he had two encounters with the woman in France. His father and agent, Neymar da Silva Santos, said the sexual contact was consensual and claimed the allegations are a “set up” against his son, one of the world’s most recognizable and well-paid athletes.
“This is a tough moment,” Santos told TV Band. “If we can’t show the truth quickly, it will snowball. If we have to show Neymar’s WhatsApp messages and the conversations with this lady, we will.”
On the pitch, Neymar won’t play in Copa America after rupturing a ligament in his ankle during a 2-0 win against Qatar on Wednesday.
Brazil’s soccer federation said in a statement that Neymar was asked by police to give testimony in Rio de Janeiro on Thursday in connection to posting pictures of his accuser on social media without authorization.
