IT’S the news the WWE Universe has been anxiously waiting for – Daniel Bryan has been medically cleared to return.
The 37-year-old has not been seen on WWE TV and has remained silent on social media since losing the WWE Title to Kofi Kingston at WrestleMania 35 on April 7.
He was flown home back to Washington after ‘Mania due to suffering the blow in his showdown with Kingston.
And he has been kept off the road ever since.
The damage incurred during the match had been kept a closely guarded secret as fears mounted among fans due to his history of concussion issues that forced him to miss two years of his career.
But luckily Bryan has now reportedly been given the all-clear to step back into the ring, according to Wrestling Observer Newsletter’s Dave Meltzer.
He said: “We don’t know what the issue was, but Bryan was at TV on 4/30 in Columbus, OH and medically cleared and will be written back into the storylines, perhaps as soon as next week.”
The news will provide a huge boost to injury hit WWE roster and will provide huge relief to the ex-world champion’s supporters.
Bryan announced his retirement from the ring in February 2016 on medical advice after suffering a number of concussions.
The determined grappler refused to give in, and after a long fight to prove his health, he was cleared at the start of last year to return.
He partnered Shane McMahon in a triumphant comeback against Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 34 in April and went on to end the year in glory.
In November he turned heel by low blowing AJ Styles on his way to claiming the WWE Title.
