Beat the Chasers fans floored as Jenny Ryan hits Paul Sinha in tense stand-off

Beat the Chasers star Jenny Ryan let her competitiveness get the better of her as she shared her frustration at her co-star Paul Sinha for missing a question.

Paul, 50, accidentally slipped up on a question about Star Wars and fans were stunned as they saw Jenny bopping Paul on the shoulder in frustration.

The Chasers were asked: "In Star Wars, Tauntaun lizards live on what snowy planet?" with Paul jumping in saying: "Tatooine."

The answer was actually Hoth, which Jenny made it perfectly clear that she knew.

The pair were then seen staring each other down after the shock outburst, before realising they had another question they needed to answer.

Jenny appeared to not be very impressed that Paul had jumped in on the Star Wars question, which is one of her specialist subjects, as she was seen with a face like thunder.

The tense moment sparked a frenzy with viewers, as their unshed to social media to comment on the stand-off between the pair.

One posted: "The way the Vixen had a go at The Sinnerman for getting that Star Wars question wrong. Then she got the next question wrong herself."

Another added: "That was nasty the Vixen hitting The Sinnerman."

Paul later took to social media himself to explain the situation with curious viewers, justifying Jenny's actions in a sweet message.

He wrote: "I know Sweet FA about Star Wars. It just wasn't my question to answer. I just heard a hard T sound twice and assumed the answer must be Tatooine.

"We make mistakes. Jenny was right to be angry. Neither of us were tight to stare at each other. Both of us had totally forgotten that the next question was ours."

He added: "In that four seconds, both of us looked ridiculous. It was exhilarating at the time, and p**s funny as well. It is funny when things go wrong.

"I didn't make the same mistake again, Jenny never punched anyone again."

He added: "He added: "After nine months of lockdown, loss of work, rules, regulations, frustration – it felt amazing to get punched by a great friend in a totally farcical incident."

The slip-up from the two Chasers managed to earn player Jane a whopping £10,000, as she managed to win the round after a number of wrong questions herself.

Beat the Chasers continues tonight at 9pm on ITV.
