In upcoming scenes on the ITV soap, Daisy Midgeley (played by Charlotte Jordan) warns Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) over his tension with Max Turner (Paddy Bever) next week, as the relationship between the teacher and his troublesome student continues to deteriorate. After starting his teaching placement, Daniel soon realised his new job was going to be far from easy as troubled student Max Turner started playing up.
Later this week, Max clashes with his new teacher Daniel as he messes around in class and continues to be a handful.
Daniel offers to give Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) some extra help with her application to get into Oxford University, to which she is delighted.
Summer then asks Daniel if he could give her some extra tuition for her entry exam and he can’t help but feel the need to turn her down and makes up an excuse.
Eventually, Daniel relents and offers to help Summer with her uni application, which doesn’t end well.
Later in the week, David Platt (Jack P Shephard) questions Max about his lack of homework, to which Max claims that he is given less homework due to his ADHD.
A suspicious David decides to confront Daniel on this, but the irritated dad is even more frustrated when the teacher comments that it’s a shame that Max doesn’t use his brain for his schoolwork rather than make a mug of his dad.
Angry with the statement made about his son, David complains about the favouritism he has witnessed between Daniel and Summer and alludes to his history with Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon), saying he probably fancies her.
While at school, Max makes a dig at Daniel as he likens the story of Romeo and Juliet to his relationship with Bethany.
When Daniel’s wallet goes missing from his jacket pocket, Max is the first person he suspects.
Catching up with Max in the street, David confronts him and orders him to empty his pockets.
Seeing the commotion that occurs between the two boys, David storms over wanting to know what’s going on, with the teacher shouting that Max has stolen his wallet.
Max empties the contents of his school bag onto the pavement in a bid to prove his innocence, with David warning Daniel that he hasn’t let it go.

After overhearing what was said, Daisy tried to calm Daniel down, warning him he is risking his career with no proof of Max’s guilt.
Could Daniel’s job be put in jeopardy by Max’s behaviour?
Will David push too hard on Daniel that he’ll eventually snap back, risking his career?
This isn’t the first time that David has faced a challenge with Max, who is the son of David’s late wife, Kylie Platt (Paula Lane).
The role of Max’s character has recently been recast, with a Coronation Street spokesperson said: “We have all watched Harry (McDermott) grow up alongside Max Turner for the past 11 years, and we want to thank him for everything he has brought to the character.
“It is always a difficult decision to recast a role, and we look forward to following Harry’s career as he continues with his acting studies and explores other opportunities.
“We wish him every success for the future,” they said.
Coronation Street airs these scenes on Thursday, September 16 at 8pm and Friday, September 17 at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
