Coronation Street viewers have watched Abi Franklin (played by Sally Carman) struggle with the death of her son Seb Franklin (Harry Visinoni) following a brutal attack from Corey Brent (Maximus Evans) and his friends. Corey was put on trial for Seb’s murder, but it came to a shocking conclusion when he was found not guilty. A devasted Abi left Weatherfield, leaving her fiancé Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) heartbroken. Will Kevin expose Corey to his football team to bring the grieving mother back to the cobbles?
In upcoming scenes, Jack Webster (Kyran Bowes) unveils that Corey has been promoted to County’s first team and will be put on the bench for the next football match.
When Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) and Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey) learn of the news, they link up with Kevin as they try and tell Corey’s teammates that he is a killer.
Kevin begs James Bailey (Nathan Graham) to speak with the manager, but when he fails to do so, Kevin decides to take matters into his own hands and Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) offers to accompany him.
A desperate Kevin is convinced getting Corey getting thrown out of County might bring Abi back to the cobbles.
Tim and Kevin accost County’s manager outside the ground, but Bob Dover (Bob Cryer) is quick to remind them that Corey was acquitted in a court of law.
Seeing the strain his pal’s under, Tim urges Kevin to forget about justice for Abi and focus on his life with Jack.
However, with emotions running high, will Kevin not listen to the advice of Bob and Tim and tell the rest of the football team he believes Corey is a cold-blooded murderer?
If he does decide to do so, will it be enough to bring Abi home so the couple can rebuild their relationship?
Fans of the ITV soap have been longing to see a happy ending for Kevin and Abi.
The pair are currently engaged to be married but have had a turbulent year following the death of Abi’s son Seb.
In recent weeks both Kelly Neelan (Millie Gibson) and Corey Brent have been on trial for their roles in Seb’s death.
Seb was killed back in May after Corey and his friends beat him and his girlfriend, Nina, in a brutal attack.
The murder trial came to a shocking conclusion, with Kelly being found guilty while Corey was acquitted.
Abi has been left brokenhearted by the loss of her son and disappointed Corey was found not guilty.
However, she has sworn Corey will pay for his crime and may be biding her time out of Weatherfield planning her revenge.
If Abi returns to Coronation Street and to Kevin, what state will she be in?
In a recent interview with Express.co.uk and other press, Abi actress Sally Carman hinted at what is in store for her character.
The star teased that there will be a bumpy road ahead for Abi and Kevin, following the result of the murder trial.
Sally revealed: “She’s not quite sure what she’s gonna do or maybe she is but whatever she does, she knows she can’t involve Kevin and Jack – it wouldn’t be fair.”
Coronation Street airs on ITV on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
