EastEnders fans can take a trip back to the mid 90s tonight, as the classic Sharongate episode is re-airing on BBC One in a primetime slot.
With pre-lockdown instalments having come to an end on June 16, the BBC One soap was forced to go off the air for the first time in its history.
However, in an effort to ensure viewers get a trip to Albert Square, an iconic episode will air each and every Tuesday.
The iconic episodes series kicked off last week with the legendary Den and Angie two-hander from 1986, but the clocks will be forwarded to 1994 this evening, as the classic Sharongate reveal will be re-broadcast.
The episode — which is quite possibly the most well-known out of the 6,124 that have aired thus far — was originally broadcast back in 1994, and saw Sharon’s (Letitia Dean) steamy affair with Phil (Steve McFadden) made public in the Queen Vic for the whole Square to hear.
The evening on which Grant (Ross Kemp) chose to reveal such information was none other than Phil and Kathy’s (Gillian Taylforth) engagement party!
Social media didn’t exist back in the ’90s, but #Sharongate would’ve no doubt been a top trend if it did, as it was that huge.
Don’t miss your chance to see this classic instalment once again!
EastEnders: Sharongate airs tonight Tuesday, June 30 at 7:30pm on BBC One.
