EastEnders fans are convinced that Little Mo Mitchell is returning to Walford 14 years after her dramatic departure.
Kacey Ainsworth, who played the iconic Slater sister in the BBC One soap for six years from 2000 until 2006, arrived at Elstree Studios on Thursday.
The 51-year-old actress shared a snap of the studios on her Instagram and Twitter accounts alongside the caption: "I don’t know why I’m frightened, I know my way around here…"
Unsurpingsly, Kacey's social media update sent the rumour mill into overdrive and her followers rushed to speculate over whether she's reprising her role as Little Mo.
One fan penned: "No way! Please say Little Mo is returning."
Another added: "Hope this is a Little Mo comeback."
A third EastEnders fan posted: "After watching EastEnders for years, Little Mo was my fave character and I’ve hardly watched it since you left. I hope you enjoy your next venture with Elstree studios."
While a fourth gasped: "Yes! I’ve been saying this for a while. We need Little Mo back."
Her tweet was liked by Alex Ferns, who played her monstrous iron-wielding husband Trevor Morgan in the soap opera.
However, fans could be disappointed, unless she was passing the towering Elstree Studios building on the way to the BBC.
EastEnders films at Elstree Centre a little way away, the same studios where medical drama Holby City is also filmed.
Kacey played long-suffering Little Mo on EastEnders from 2000 until 2006, twice winning Best Actress at the British Soap Awards.
The popular character was defined by her turbulent marriage to abusive Trevor, who assaulted her on several occasions and burnt her with an iron.
Little Mo fought back against evil Trevor in the end, clattering him with the same iron and knocking him out cold.
She went on to marry his sworn enemy Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) but even that relationship didn't last and Mo left Walford in May 2006.
Little Mo still has plenty of relatives still living in Albert Square including her sister Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace), cousin Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner), Stacey's mother Jean (Gillian Wright).
Her ex-husband Billy is also still around so there is plenty of reasons why Little Mo would return to Walford.
EastEnders continues on BBC One on Friday at 8.30pm
