EastEnders spoilers: Hayley Slater horrified after her mum returns to Walford and begs her for forgiveness

Hayley last saw Bev – played by This Country actress Ashley Maguire – just after she’d given birth to baby Cherry in October with her vile mum plotting to sell the tot for £100k.

So unsurprisingly Hayley – played by Katie Jarvis – isn’t too pleased when Bev shows up needing somewhere to stay and wondering if there is any room at the Slater house.

Which there obviously isn’t with almost 20 people currently squashed into the house.

Luckily Alfie Moon is on hand to offer a solution to the housing crisis that’s gripping the Square – but what is it?

And – more importantly – why are any of the Slater's giving Bev the time of day after what she tried to do to her own granddaughter.

Fans of the BBC One soap were horrified back in November when Bev revealed her plan to sell the tot.

The vile con-woman re-entered Hayley's life after discovering she was pregnant and despite causing outrage after leaving her bleeding in the street with a suspected miscarriage, has returned to wreak more havoc on her damaged daughter.

Viewers couldn’t believe the depths she sunk to in the episode which aired on Novemeber 10.

They watched as Bev spent the entire episode undermining Hayley to try and convince her that she will be a terrible mother.

And in the closing moments of the episode, she revealed her true evil plan when she told Hayley she wanted to sell the baby girl.

She told her troubled daughter: “Don’t worry about it love, we’ll find her somewhere to go, hey?

"A mum and dad with a house, a real family. Someone who can love her properly."

But she wasn't thinking about having the little one adopted officially, instead she was planning to sell her own granddaughter for cash – to anyone who would pay.

She added: "And if we can make a few quid out of it, it’s no more than we deserve."
