EastEnders star Lorraine Stanley drops hints about Karen’s exit storyline saying she is ‘gutted’ to go – The Sun

EASTENDERS star Lorraine Stanley has lifted the lid on what will happen to her character Karen Taylor as she prepares to depart Walford.

Karen was offered a life-changing amount of money from Ian Beale on the condition that she relocated without baby Kayden out of Albert Square on the BBC One soap.

After some deliberation, she finally made up her mind and decided to accept Ian’s offer.

However, Lorraine says the decision hasn't been an easy one for the mother-of-six, who was threatened with the prospect of Kayden being taken into care by Ian.

Speaking to Digital Spy, she said: "Obviously, as a mother, she doesn't want to leave her children.

"But she feels that she's doing the right thing for Kayden. She couldn't bear him to go into care so it's her only option. "

Lorraine later admitted the character may find it tough leaving son Keegan after he was arrested.

She added: "Plus he's newly married and things are going a bit wrong for him so I think she's thinking he's vulnerable."

And it doesn't get any easier for the single mother, who will also leave behind love interest Billy Mitchell.

The actress continued: "She's not going too far, but she is gutted. She really likes him and it's a new relationship. But she's got to do what she's got to do and what's best for Kayden."
